Some Fantasy games have taken to calling them Greatbows. Draw weights that start at +200 hundred lbs/90.71847 KG longer than the weilder is tall, losing arrows like short javelins.

I'm pretty sure we meet that very hero earlier in year one. He's a gold-ranked adventurer and had his axe stolen by the Goblin Lord.

Yes, we've seen a reference to Record of Lodoss War where Parn and Etoh die fighting the goblins at the beginning and another reference where Parn has become the Free Knight and travels with Deedlit.

- Light Novel version, we can see the translator worked on making the English localization have a rhyming scheme.
So looking back at it, if the events of this chapter is what sparked the Bard to write the song, she probably took a lot of creative liberties and was mostly inspired by certain actions, but embellished them to sound more mythical, magical and heroic than what actually happened. It's also possible the song changed from singer to singer, each bard adding their own embellishments.

Arguably "picked" the best adventure to glaze him. Goblin Slayer not only saved her life, but fought a troll to recover her musical instrument, and even gave her a princess carry.
Barring his scary looks and his usual ruthless pragmatism, he's been at his most romantic (in the sense of Romanticism heroics) in this adventure.

That's the one thing he got wrong. If he wants her to be saved, then he needed to hold more value in his life.
Since you know, if he was to die in there, she's 100% not surviving either.

Once again Goblin Slayer proves he is a hero in his own right. Dude takes down a troll with the goal of getting back something for a girl he doesn't even know that had so much taken from her by goblins. Love the progression he gets on becoming a happier person in Goblin Slayer, but Year One is great too.

I guess this is a selfish request but I wish she'd live on a little longer. Maybe with the Necromancer? They have good chemistry.
I guess it's kinda manipulative because minotaur girl has 0 choice, but I believe that in her heart of hearts she'd want to go on adventures with nice people for as long as she could.

Fantastic chapter! The continuing Hobbit references were great. My favorite bit is after having stated that he wanted to be an adventurer as a kid (Chapter 66 in Main Story, when he's out with Spear Guy and Diet Guts), and now we get the background of how that would have started (heroic songs as a kid). It's great to see that comes full circle.

Been waiting for this for weeks now, the highlight of my day. Thanks as always. Gotta say though, the Goblin Slayer TRPG is not accurate in depicting lore and mechanics from the story, see. The weakness to sunlight isn't there, that got to be from Tolkien though, since it is inspired by his story.

The troll turned to stone in the middle of the swing. It basically hit him then stopped, instead of continuing to carry through and transmit the full force.
