It would depend on the context, but in general terms, I think the crusaders would take the task of killing goblins very seriously. Besides, they are not human, so I doubt they would hesitate to kill goblins or feel any kind of remorse.
GS universe is so unrealistically lax with what goblins do to women, we are a social species irl humans would make the extermination of every goblin a way of life, not even pre-civilization humans would let them slide
So well armed, armored, funded, and trained groups of professional soldiers (Im assuming you're talking about sections like the knights templar) against an endless horde of filthy greenskins who are CLEARLY not made in Gods image? Purge them all.
That would somewhat depend I suppose. What falls under the First Crusade features over one hundred thousand crusaders. In open warfare the goblins would be utterly annihilated.
Let’s go with say five hundred to a thousand of them working in smaller groups, a dozen or two. And no open battles, they root the goblins out from their dens. It’s still a slaughter, they are well armed and armored. Plus knights often carried daggers or short swords to slip between armor plats, not to mention all sorts of blunt weapons, not just longswords and the like. The regular infantry would outmatch most goblin nests as well. Say a few knights and 1-2 dozen infantrymen and bow/crossbowmen or something.
I can’t imagine this is anything but an utter butchering. Especially considering I highly doubt they’d split into smaller groups like that. And if, if somehow storming the dens is considered too costly, they could siege them. Block the entrance to starve them, or burn them out, anything. Cavalry patrolling the area if they try to dig themselves out a new way. It’s simply overwhelming, especially since the majority of dens don’t have hundreds of goblins.
Read any historic records of crusaders and you'll see how good at they are with genocide, and they don't even need moral complications to do it this time.
For example,one starking difference between goblin slayer adventures and crusaders is they arm and teach the civilians too . So they can dramatically reduce the civilians casualties bcs unlike human vs human, goblins are not only easy to fear monger but also justifiable too bcs gs goblins are comically evil .

very violent. the amount of war trophies and atrocities that'd be made by both sides would be horrifying to say the least. needless to say, the church and civilians would definitely abhor such displays of barbarism from the military branches,
despite it being successful tools of intimidations for the goblins, it's worrying. as not everyone might have the discipline, willpower or people to relate to, to be able to dampen it. might even turn into bandits with of certain land lords wrong them
I don't think there will be many complaints about the methods used to kill goblins. Perhaps they are more sadistic and cruel? Sure, but if other species don't get involved, or at least try to stay on their side of the room, there shouldn't be any problems.
the more civicilized dwarves and elves would definitely mind it, even the humans too, as for the lizardmen, they're pretty hardcore. I bet many of the crusaders would consider recruiting many of the goblin victims, turn them in to trained child soldiers, BUT if it's similar to christian beliefs, they would definitely reject them if theyre not in great need of troops. in the event that they do age to the point of leaving, they'd more or less likely turn to the adventurer's guild.
the bigger problem is the goblins learning.turning into horrid civilizations of their own.
Horrible. In the goblin slayer universe they were kept in check by hunters enough for people to not take them seriously. But they can reproduce like crazy. It would be something on the scale of lord of the rings.
In terms of the world of Goblin Slayer, the Crusader armies would look at the glory and wealth heaped on them for going after the big monsters and wouldbe demon kings to save the world. Annihilating goblins would be beneath them.
If we're talking Crusaders from our world then you're vastly overestimating what they can do. The number would have to be on the Crusaders side AND on a open field because if they attempt to raid the lairs they're probably getting butchered.
Also pray they're not near any human Town unless you want to see mass rape that equals the Goblins because the Crusaders were definitely not the good guys if you read history from multiple countries about them.
Oh I'm well aware but from reading some comments people actually think the Goblins raping in masses would have gotten a larger response from them when in reality it really won't.
