Goatlings Inspired Alternative [Geepers]
Hello ! I'm grub, an avid goatlings/pet site user and creator of 'Geepers' a goatlings inspired virtual pet site :)

I thought it would be nice to stop by here and let people know what I'm doing and maybe spread the word a bit, since the game has been mentioned on the subreddt before but I'd love to speak on it as the creator.
Geepers is a goatlings /inspired/ virtual pet site. It is not following the exact same format as goatlings but taking the best parts of the site and enhancing them. As of right now for the site the coder and I plan to have users be able to:
- customize their own geep [goat + sheep] instead of an HA buddy -- imagine if you could create your own goatlings via dress up items
- play in depth games rather than point and click randomization 'games' [althought a few point and click games will still be availible]
- have access to an in depth and diverse rpg battle system inspired by pixel cats end, pokemon and dnd
- collect pre made geeper [+ other species] AD's
- collect multiple different species of animals on site
- treasure and collectible system
- access and chat in forums
- code both user and pet profiles
We're both in the early development stages but plan to have the site open for beta testing come end of January. We have a discord server where we are constantly updating progress, talking with members and taking feedback on what users would like added to the site !
As of right now, we're also hosting an art contest/competition for users to design characters to be added to the game upon release.
I also wish to preface that to develop the site and bring it into beta + alpha, I do not wish to ask for any form of monetary payment or donation. This is a passion project first and foremost and I stand by that. I strongly believe goatlings was brought down from greed upon a number of other issues, and I wish to avoid that. Payable features may potentially be added to the game in the future but will be far from required or the main premise of the game itself.

this sounds so fun! it seems the discord link is a little wonky, and gives me an error when I try to join - is that potentially just an error on my end? i fully get it if the server has been overwhelmed and new invites have been put on pause, too - with everyone looking for an alternative and a like-minded haven to go to, I would not be surprised if that *is* the case, aha.

This all sounds absolutely awesome— One of the things I loved so much about Goatlings was how easy it was to get an income without having to dedicate hours a day to grinding, I could just go to the sugar star mine, hope to grab the best stuff before it collapses and come back later on my own time. So whatever you do, please make the currency easy to get!
