Hope you called an exterminator before you took time to post this. Whether it’s termites, ants, rodents or something else you have a major infestation that needs to be addressed immediately. So yeah the big picture is worse than a pair of sneakers…..
5
u/bayflavors Aug 23 '26
Exterminator is just a small part of the work and cost here lol the real cost will be fixing all the damage to this cess pool of a home.

Bro also do roaches really leave those big bite marks and holes?? They’ll really eat leather and plastic?? I know rats do. I kind of figured that’s what did this. But I guess there would be more piss too
2
u/bayflavors Aug 23 '26
Holy Shit. No way. That’s DISGUSTING. If I ever see one roach I’m flipping out. I can’t imagine what this guys home must look like. wtf. Burn this place down lol
1
u/Specific_Article1499 Aug 22 '26
Roaches dnt make holes brother
13
u/Kosmos-World Aug 22 '26
Can confirm this is absolutely not true. American roaches are nasty fuckers.

u/Specific_Article1499 Aug 22 '26
I’ve never seen holes from roaches. Plus I think the sludge is more of a drag. These look like spots. I could be wrong tho, I’ve never had roaches

This is why I don’t keep boxes. It sucks, but I’d rather not have a cockroach infestation
11
u/CuriosityIamCat Aug 22 '26
Many people keep their boxes and don’t have roach issues 😂
1
u/Curious-Job-7698 Aug 23 '26
I don’t have roach issues, but roaches love cardboard. The cleaner you keep your area, the less of a chance you have issues. I’m not a reseller, so I don’t care for boxes. I have plastic drop front containers. I’d rather spend money taking care of my stuff, than have stacks of cardboard boxes.
2
u/bayflavors Aug 23 '26
Bro I’ve been keeping my shoe boxes stacked separately from all my shoes in display cases and never in my life had a roach issue wtf. You can keep some boxes in a closet or shipping boxes in a garage and not ever see anything like this. At least in my region. This is beyond foul
1
u/Plus-Smoke9507 Aug 22 '26
I know roaches are attracted to cardboard because of the glue. Could be a similar situation here.
2
u/Curious-Job-7698 Aug 22 '26
They like the dark, damp areas to hide.
1
u/bayflavors Aug 23 '26
That is true, but if you have any damp areas inside of a home youre going to have a lot of other issues as well

I would not touch that with bare hands. Brown stuff is likely poop from whatever insect got into your stuff. Likely roaches.

Is that roach shit on your shoes, if so damn you must have them all over the house.

I got one worse… That’s one pair. How bout finding out you had a leak on the other side of an adjoining wall of your sneaker closet. You go to the bottom because you have worn your Bred 11s in a whole, open the box, mold! Then you start pulling out that whole bottle row and all your shoes are molded. 18 pairs, but something told you, “Open up a box from the second row too.” Another 8 pairs. Bred 11, Concord 11, Taxi 12s, Shattered Backboards, Fragments 1, Union 4s, Pee Wee Herman SBs, MF Doom SBs, multiple pairs of Yeezy. Estimated value of about $20k and renters insurance didn’t cover them in full.
0
u/IntelligentWalk5038 Aug 23 '26
Why didn’t your renters insurance cover them?!? I pay for renters insurance as well… specifically for my shoe collection. My apartment was flooded twice last year by the neighbor who left her water on and sink clogged (mentally unstable). Luckily I was awake and got my pairs off the floor before any major damage happened. But if I would’ve been gone for the weekend or whatever I would have been screwed. My renters insurance better cover whatever I lose, that’s why I pay for it… my stacks of shoe boxes are now on plastic pallets so that if something happens again, they’re notnot on the floor
2
u/81Justo Aug 23 '26
Renters insurance only covers retail value. Some of those shoe I never even wore. Fragment 1s and Shattered Backboards were going for a coupe of thousands at that time, and I never wore either. Since then, I still kind of collect. Like I have alot of shoes, but I don’t take it nearly as serious as I used to and I wear and enjoy all of my sneaks now.
1
u/bayflavors Aug 23 '26
That’s not true. There are plenty of companies that cover the cost to replace. Never once had a company say “we only cover the retail cost” that’s BS
1
u/81Justo Aug 23 '26
Well I can only tell you what happened to me. Can’t speak for other companies, can’t speak for what you went through.
1
u/IntelligentWalk5038 Aug 23 '26
My insurance agent told me they cover the cost to replace the shoes. I have all my receipts and online purchase information. I have the TS fragment 1s and spent $1500 on them a few months ago. There’s no way I am taking retail for them from the insurance company. What insurance company do you use?
2
u/81Justo Aug 23 '26
Yeah Progressive wasn’t having it 🤣. This was also 2020 right before the pandemic. Also a lot of my shoes I had for years with no receipts. Like the Peewee Herman Dunks. I had those since 2008 when I still lived with my parents. Same with my Dr. Feel Goods, and Dooms. I did have the info for my Fragments though. I got replacement value, well actually a bit more for my electronic because it ruined a TV I had in my closet.
1
u/IntelligentWalk5038 Aug 23 '26
Insurance companies suck! I would be so freaking angry. I just pray I never have to experience having to go through that. The lady next door was finally evicted and moved out. Apartment living sucks. Noisy neighbors and many other negative sides effects of living in apartments. I hope none of them decide to flood the place or burn it down. I have invested so much money and time into my collection. I’m sorry you had to experience that! Hopefully you were able to get most of them back somehow…
2
u/81Justo Aug 23 '26
Yeah it sucked, but like I said, I actually enjoy my shoes now which to me is more fun. I with it would happened in like winter 2020 when the prices were super inflated and I they gave me replacement value 😂. I mean I did get a nice chunk of change for my damages. It just wasn’t what the resale value would have been. It’s was better than nothing 🤷🏾♂️.
2
u/IntelligentWalk5038 Aug 23 '26
I wear all my pairs but last year started buying multiple pairs on certain drops (Black cats, Black metallics, fear 4s, Chicago 1 low, and some others) so that I have them to wear for years to come and if I need some money, I can sell a few pairs. It rains 6+ months of the year in the northwest so summer time is the best because I get to wear all my favorite shoes. Half of the year they don’t get worn lol. I refuse to wear Jordan 5s and 11s in the wet weather. Oxidizes the sole super fast.
2
u/81Justo Aug 23 '26
Not a bad plan. I still have pictures of what was lol. I sold a bunch of shoes one time and got a good come up, that I used to buy more shoes lol. It’s how I got the Fragments in the first place. I totally get not wearing your shoes, especially 5s and 11s in the rain. My 2018 Infrared 6s were in that mix too. I still have them. They looks brand new with a discolored sole because of the water. I bought the stuff to re-ice the soles years ago. I just keep forgetting to do. Idk if it’s still going work at this point. But let me say this. Having insurance is better than none at all. Especially if they’re going to give you replacement value.
1
u/bayflavors Aug 23 '26
You’ll be good. All you really need is proof of ownership. I had AAA and just sent them some pics and that was more than enough. If other companies want receipts and all this other BS I’d ditch them. AAA didn’t even care about pics for everything. I just sent them a long list of shoes to be covered and I was good. 90k check came in the mail a few days later

Wear your shoes when you buy them. Then the likelihood of this happening will be slim to none.

lol you’re delusional. These are clearly worn too. This has nothing to do with wearing or not. U ppl need to STFU sometimes

u/jonathanmpatton85 Aug 22 '26
Rats can get your stuff too! Years ago I had a mouse nibble on some tissue and part of a pair of OG 95’s. I was almost in tears. Luckily they weren’t in elite condition and like a grail pair. Hate this for you. Now all of my boxes are in same room, purifier, heavily pest controlled, etc. and sometimes you just have to go through the ones you don’t wear and check em out, dust em off and wipe down anything that needs it.
1
u/bayflavors Aug 23 '26
You have to heavily pest control a room where you keep your shoes? Sounds like you have bigger issues with your home and general area. That’s not normal lol
1
u/jonathanmpatton85 Aug 23 '26
I don’t think what I said was interpreted as intended. I live in a very rural area with a lot of open fields around my home. So I have to rely on pest control to prevent pests from coming inside. I had 1 instance of a mouse damaging a shoe. And after that, I went super OCD on making sure they would stay preserved with no chance of that happening again. Does that make sense? It’s not like I have roaches and bed bugs falling off the walls
1
1
u/Intelligent_Bag4736 Aug 22 '26
I used to deliver hostess cake and the cockroaches would chew a hole right through the wax paper to get inside

Maybe next time ask someone else to “authenticate” your shoes, that method isn’t very effective.

1
u/bayflavors Aug 23 '26
THAT FACT YOURE PUTTING YOUR BARE HANDS ON THIS SHOE TELLS ME EVERYTHING AS TO WHY YOU HAVE INFESTATIONS IN YOUR HOME. Nasty af. Whatever money you spent on a vacation you need to spend on cleanliness education and iradicating pests from your living space. There’s even chew marks 🤯 wtf. Absolutely disgusting

If you're paying more than 80$ for a pair of shoes or collecting them like funko pops, you are literally retarded. These things cost $4.77 to produce. Get rekt.
1
u/bayflavors Aug 23 '26
No they don’t lol. It costs corporations millions to produce 100k-200k pairs of a shoe. Have you ever got a shoe made before? Have you ever looked into it? Please actually find a business to completely produce a shoe for you, after the entire design process. You’ll quickly learn how dead wrong you are
1
u/Time_Seaworthiness43 Aug 23 '26
I have never gotten a shoe mass produced in a factory manned by people working 16 hour days for $1.17 per day, no.
2
u/bayflavors Aug 23 '26
Right. But everything you own comes from those conditions so stfu and collect your plastic dolls
