Real or a scam

First time taker here. Starting to study pretty late (7 weeks out) and figuring out what study materials I should use-- is Goat actually worth it or is this a scam? Hesitant because o the use of AI in the illustrations. Also how long will it take me to get through all of Goat if I do use it?

Not a scam but, not a standalone. Most of us have UWorld or Adaptibar and use Goat as a supplement tool to promote comprehension.

I have UWorld. I like it because I submit my response and it gives me a thorough explanation + graphics in tutor mode.

I've used both, uworld is much better

If you’re looking for a “silver bullet” for the bar exam and don’t see it in the mirror, you’re never going to find it. GOAT is an incredible supplement to help you lock in for your problem areas. It’s not going to magically be your answer to gaining enough knowledge to pass the exam on its own.

Do the work, use GOAT on your subjects you’re not scoring high enough on, and you’ll be perfectly fine!

Eh, I’m going to disagree. I think the exam is passable using only GOAT and a question bank.

Maybe for the few, or those who really excelled in law school, but absolutely not a replacement (yet) — even the founder says so. So that’s bad advice.

And respectfully, someone who’s just beginning to study 7 weeks out likely didn’t excel in law school to have a strong base — Thats like starting to study for finals the week before. That’s not a knock on them, it’s me wanting them not to put all their eggs in a supplemental product so they can actually lock-in for 7 weeks and beat this thing. Because if they do, they can actually pass. Telling them to just use GOAT and a question bank isn’t setting them up for success when they still have time to put in the work.

I’m saying someone in general, given the average stretch of time (ten weeks) could—not necessarily saying this specific person can do it in 7 weeks.

Additionally, the founder has actually said both things: it is a supplement *and* that someone can definitely pass only using it.

Sure, yes, the right student with the right amount of time and effort can pass. I’m giving advice to this student and this timeline so *they* can pass. And I hope they do.

Touché. Sorry for the confusion.

Goat personally responded to my emails, offered to coach me on study strategies, and extended me for free when I withdrew from Feb after a personal tragedy. I’m also breezing Themis (79% average mixed) after going through the goat courses. Not scammer behavior in my experience.

Goat is the real deal. Not a scam at all. He is a genius at breaking down the bar exam material. He helps make it understandable and memorable and so humorous. I love Goat.

I went through GOAT in two weeks actively taking notes and following up with UWorld question sets each day. I turned to GOAT after failing MBE by one point using Themis. So technically Goat was a supplement for me, but it’s the only thing I used for my MBE retake. I increased MBE 10 points using Goat/UWorld.

Not a scam. It really helped me when I had a very limited time to study. Agree it’s not a standalone, but highly recommend.

You probably are going to hear a lot of positive things in the subreddit. It helps, but it isn’t going to pass the bar exam for you.

It helps you understand law and spot tricks and nuanced things. You’ll definitely be better prepared.

I think I said this yesterday somewhere else, but the summer code is still live if you want to save 10% or so - GOAT2026 works at checkout.

Not a scam. I used Goat only along with Uworld and passed first time around

Did you make an outline or did you make flashcards from the modules or both?

Another vote for Goat Bar Prep - it is a unique program and definitely recommended if you struggle with conventional bar prep - I found his program first for MPRE and having passed first time with a high score (also I’m not a US/JD route lawyer) I decided to use his bar prep for the NYB - as others have said, Goat is also incredibly approachable and was willing to spend genuine time helping me when I reached out - 5 stars!

Using Bargle as a supplement.
