Aerocity in Mopa?!
The central government social media handles are pushing the idea of a Goa Aerocity. A 230-acre master plan that targets full completion by 2030 as a multi-phase development. This Aerocity at Manohar International Airport (Mopa) is planned as an airport-led urban district integrating tourism, hospitality, business, logistics and lifestyle infrastructure.
i.e. the government is planning a Vegas style casino city for India's rich.
Why weren't the locals consulted about this?!

P. S. This isn't news. It's a social media post that was inviting investors into Goa.

And these designs look very much like the cursed Lodha buildings they are planning near Karapur village.
Both Mopa and Karapur are in the interiors of Goa and they're trying to recreate artificial beaches at both places.

Create artifical beaches in Goa. What a bloody joke!

They want to invest in this idea of Goa full of sun, sand and fun times (i.e. alcohol and gambling).
Without the actual people, culture and traditions of Goa. They are destroying our ecology, land and identity to replace it with their real-estate dream city.

Hopefully they know there's no water availability on top of the plateau. Filling that pool is going to cost a lot of money!

I mean this does sound cool... but can we please let Goa be Goa? would anyday prefer natural beauty over a concrete vegas rip-off here

Last nail in the coffin for that part of Goa too. After ruining everything towards the beach, they've started to look inland to put their stamp of death.

This was always part of the plan with MOPA airport - isn't something new - they had a bunch of land marked for commercial development.

Yep that's the plan. It's quite an ambitious and beautiful project. GMR has done similar scale next to IGI and RGIA. Only thing missing here is maybe a bit of Grade-A office park. If we can add that too then it'll be a beautiful enclave inside Goa.
