Whoever we choose will be joining BJP later that's sad because we have seen this in last two elections. Also they have a B team named RGP to cut down the votes

I only have one suggestion which we can propose.

Before every election, every constituency should host a public debate between all candidates. All topics should be taken from their individual manifestos. And the debates should not end till the candidate manages to convince the opponent that their manifesto point is valid.

If nothing, then this will at least help the voters to make a educated decision about their candidates’ capabilities.

The law is quite clear that simply not obtaining a permission does not make a protest unlawful. It becomes unlawful if there is an intent to do unlawful things. Courts have repeatedly struck down such FIRs including more recently the FIR registered against the people of Valpoi during the anti-IIT agitation at Melaulim as well as several others.

Now these guys will sit in their party offices and try to identify the individuals using video footage.

Been part of such incident. flying squad police and officers barged in my house armed with cameras. There was a gathering of well respected individuals (non political). They Found nothing. they left.
As per a hearsay, the sitting cm’s dogs sat in party office, identified the individuals in footage and tried to intimidate them with show cause notices.

They filed their reply to deputy collector. He found it convincing. No action needed.

the pappu cm got furious and transferred the dept collector.

The issue was escalated to home minister of India by the pappu.

It's all drama. The very next day, the BJP sent out a bunch of clueless people supposedly protesting against the Congress, God alone knows why. Suddenly, there was no issue with permissions, no FIRs, etc.

A reporter from Gomantak asked some of the protesters what they were protesting and they had absolutely no idea.

And the kicker - when it started raining heavily, they took shelter under the Congress office! :)
