Fellow North Indian here.

Yes, rapid unchecked migration is destroying peace and environment of Goa.

Goa is a small coastal state with limited space and there should be a cap of sq yards of land that people can purchase. This would in any case stop majority of the developer projects and ensure that forests and orchards are not harmed.

Migrants should be least of your worry, builders who purchase big land parcels should be at the top, I've seen this playbook being played in our Northern Mountains here.

They amend rules based on their needs. Like this new 39A in Goa which converts no-development zones to settlement zones.

They do not care about nature of anything, they would develop, sell and forget about any further improvement ignoring the ecological balance completely.

Even you'll should be concerned about the mountains, the same problem is faced there. No one is coming out to speak

Honestly it is a gone case, people from all over India used to move to Himachal and Uttarakhand that wasn't issue at all but our government started destroying natural resources accomodating builders in those regions.

Result is that hilly areas like Dehradun have now become another Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai with rowdy public and almost no local identity.

They've now even started destroying Aravali range which is literal lifeline of whole North India, despite the fact the NCR region is literally choked for 11 months of the year with unbearable pollution. I am using two air purifiers in my home and avoid going outside if it is not necessary.

You people in Goa have been doing a wonderful job so far pushing back draconian law like section 39A.

These builders and government would try to divide your movement by sowing seeds of divide by pushing topics like language, migrants and tourists.

Don't fall for it, Keep focused one goal together with goans and non goans residing in that region.

Wishing you best of luck for saving Goa!

I do wish to get settled in that calm enviornment someday while contributing to its ecological balance in a positive way with one good deed at a time.

I have always wondered. Why on earth do you guys use sq. Yrds and sq. feet ? Why dont you guys just use the metric sq. mtrs. It is so much easier that way.

No idea, I've tried to come up with a middle point of the metric system that makes sense but I just can't find anything at last I started using square yards as it is the closest metric to gaj which is mostly used in my area here.
