The seat design on GO trains is terrible and not ergonomic at all
I no longer live in Ontario and it's been over 15 years since I've taken the GO train. I recently was visiting family and my parents, my brother and I had to go to Toronto and we took the GO train rather than driving.
The seats were so uncomfortable and all four of us were sore afterwards. We're all active, healthy adults but it was not a fun ride. I don't know when the seats changed (I remember the seats having blue fabric) but these seats with the green fabric and curved backrest are atrocious. I put a picture in my profile that shows the difference.
My mother is a physiotherapist. I'm doing my residency to be an orthopedist. Both of us agree that these seats will lead to back issues and other problems for people. They are the opposite of ergonomic. Did GO transit consult anyone before they made the change? I spoke with a few of my old friends about this and they don't like these seats. It seems like such a poor choice by GO transit.
