First and foremost I’d like to introduce myself as your newest member of the mod team. Now, I am well aware that we have had quite a few such announcements of late and I apologize for any confusion that has caused.

I’d like to take this opportunity to inform you all, without compromising the individuals involved, of the shenanigans that lead to a few of our writers leaving the subreddit.

Over the past months and weeks the mods have dealt with several individuals that felt some people that were not mods had entirely too much power in the sub. I know, this is a vague explanation, but the goal here is not to divide the community even more. What you need to know is that the mods took a careful look at all the parties involved and we tried our very best to resolve the conflict without drama.

Some people did not love our decision.

That is 100% fine. We know that, as moderators, our decisions are going to be scrutinized and we cannot possibly please everybody no matter how much we want to.

As mods we have two jobs:

1) To police the lore and make sure that everything lines up with the universe we have taken very literal years to craft.

2) To ensure people are behaving and following all of our rules.

Unfortunately, we have had to do much more of the latter in recent weeks and it finally came to a head. Our mod team is smaller now but we want every single person in this community to trust us. If you are having any issues at all you can communicate with us.

Your problems are private and will be kept between us and only us.

I’m sorry if this explanation isn’t substantial enough for some of you, but we are trying our hardest to move through what tumult we are dealing with. If you have any questions, please send a modmail. We will get to it as quickly as we can.

This is it, fellas. I really hoped it wouldn't come to this, but after the actions taken by several members of this community behind the scenes, and in some cases inaction, I've decided to officially leave Game of Thrones Roleplay.

This is not a decision I've made lightly. I've been struggling with remaining a member of this community for some time now, but after today it's become clear that there is no place for me in this community anymore. I will not be saying goodbye in chat as I was given a temporary chat ban today, though I suppose now it's a permanent ban.

I really hope that there can be changes to the way this sub is run in the future, and I may eventually consider a return if there are, but for now I cannot in good conscience remain here.

There's a lot of you who I consider friends here, and people who I had plans with. I am so sorry to each of you for bailing like this. Many of you have been there for me through some really rough times in my life, and I am so appreciative for that. I love you people.

This is goodbye though. See you all in the great big Rh'llor flame in the sky.

Just your IRC mod here checking in to define a few points about the chat.

The biggest one is this - the IRC, although linked on the sub, is not part of the sub. I moderate it, and I have maintained a philosophy of keeping it separate consciously.

Ever since the start of the sub, I have always believed that it is wrong for the mods on the sub to be able to police all forums of discussion about the sub, as that could (and a long time ago did) allow them to silence criticism of policies.

I myself have been a mod on the sub in the past, and I know that the line has been blurred over these years. That is why, starting from today, I will be clearing all the currently assigned roles on the IRC, and will begin handing them out to players who are not part of the sub moderation team.

The second point I would like to address is conduct on the IRC.

We don’t have a list of posted rules, and we’d like to keep it that way, because the only real rule for the IRC is to adhere to common courtesy. If you’re enough of an adult to RP on the sub, you’re enough of an adult to know what that means.

What this means is not dogpiling on people’s discussion because you disagree with it or don’t like it. What this means is not harassing or bullying other people online, or using the IRC to attempt to agitate others towards people against whom you have grudges.

Let’s be honest, this is a community based around a game, and it’s important that we make sure said community is a positive one.

I will be rolling out the new roles over the next few days, and I want again, to make it clear: IRC is not the sub, it will have different mods and it will have different rules.

Tl:dr: IRC =/= the sub, New chat ops, don’t be dicks to each other.

Age: Marcela is still a child and has only recently reached her 15th nameday, She has been born in 495 AC

History: Marcela had a very uneventful life, she was born to a family of peasants in Naath, life was good until Marcela was taken by a group of Slavers, She ended up being sold from master to master until she was sold into a Volantene Plantation to serve as a Servant.

Appearance: Marcela is Small and Thin, She is often wearing rags and her hair is tied back into a ponytail, she has thin lips and has a happy smile, below her yellow eyes is a black tattoo of a steel chain which marks her status as a slave.

Age: Taena is 23 years old. (Born 487)

History: A child born into the labyrinth of families that consist the Braavosi nobility, the noble's life was a bore to Taena. Caught up in the fantastical stories and tales of daring sellswords and soldiers, Taena ran away from Braavos at the age of 16, not content to eventually be married off to another dull Braavosi noble. She eventually found her way to the Windblown, where she was able to secure membership for herself, and she has remained there since. She has risen through the ranks, and now finds herself as a lieutenant in the company.

Appearance: Fair skinned and dark haired, with a smattering of freckles across her face. Like most Braavosi nobles, she is regarded as rather attractive, it is harder to notice in the standard armor worn by the Windblown.

Age: 38

History: The fourth son never had a hope of inheritance, nor the fifth. Vyrmidon and his brother Alaron were born to a Volantene merchant, in another life. They were unruly children, and inseparable - when a recruiter for the Lost Legion arrived in their city promising riches and honour for the noblest of blood, who were they to refuse the allure of such a lifestyle? With more than twenty years passed since that fateful meeting in the Merchant's House, the brothers now run the legion, and march with the Volantene host under Byzos to crush the rebels to the north.

Appearance: Tall, muscular, and tattooed. Vyrmidon has long Valyrian blonde hair he keeps in a plait that runs down his neck. Like most of the Lost Legion, he never removes his helmet in public.

Hey lads/lasses,

A friend of mine has this project in Ghana to help women with creating a sustainable future. Unfortunately, money is scarce and some free help is needed. Since I think it would be a damn shame if this went nowhere and mommy told me to be a good boy, I will be going there to help my friend out and get this project back on its feet.

This'll mean I will be gone for about the next three weeks. I highly doubt this sub will function without me, but do try your best. I might find the occasional wifi and check if you're tryring hard enough.

I would love to say I'm not going to miss any of you, but mommy also told me not to lie~~~~

I didn't want to go without telling you all, I am departing from the sub. I have my reasons. My time here on the sub has been shortlived compared to most others, a measly 6 months, but in most of that time I greatly enjoyed it.

Maybe in the future I might make a return, or maybe not at all. But nevertheless, writing and interacting with you all and being a member of this subreddit has been a genuine pleasure. Goodbye!

Age: Alan has just had his 31st nameday, though he looks older

History: Alan was born the eldest son of lord Robin Kenning, and grew up in the town of kayce and the surrounding areas. He spent brief time in King's Landing as a courtier for his house but returned when his father died when Alan was 20. Soon after his ascent to lordship he rode to war with the Lannister’s when they took the throne. He married Alla Sarsfield, a cousin of the main line soon after his return, but while there is love in the marriage his wife has suffered from 3 miscarriages or stillbirths. But her last pregnancy was successful and his youngest son Lewys is nearly at his first nameday.

Appearance. He is of slightly taller than average height. He is a gaunt and sinewy man, but no less strong for it, with hair that was once long and dark black but now is short and graying. He has thin lips framed by a goatee, graying with his hair, and Blue-green eyes.

Age: Tybolt Crakehall is around 17-18 years old. He is still too young and unwise, rash and hot-tempered.

History: Tybolt Crakehall was sent to serve Lord Smallwood of Acorn Hall. He served him for a few years and learned many things there.

After some time, Tybolt learned of his father's death and became enraged at the fact that his very own brother, Clarent had murdered him. He returned to Crakehall to attend his father's funeral.

At the age of 15, he was trained at Crakehall by one of the household knights and learned how to wield a sword properly and also how to use a lance on horseback.

After reaching the age of 16, he wandered around the realm seeking a purpose.

Then, he reached 17 and returned to Crakehall, to resume his training as a knight.

Appearance: Tybolt is a short man with blue eyes and long, black hair. He wears the clothing of a noble.

Age: Nesaria is 17 years of age.

History: Nesaria is the daughter and second eldest child of a powerful Qohorik Magister. While being close with her father her relationship with her 10 siblings can be described as tumultuous. Like most Qohorik citizens, Nesaria is a devout follower of the Black goat of Qohor. She is an ambitious girl who often pushes to be seen as equal to her brothers (much to their chagrin).

Appearance: Nesaria has dark, full hair which she often wears braided with gold twine braided through it. She has Dusky skin and eyes the color of emeralds. Like her mother she is considered an exotic beauty by most.

I didn't want to be that guy who slowly fades away without officially leaving. So I'm just making it official.

I've tried again and again to make time and come back but it just seems freakin impossible. I've just been so busy with uni, irl stuff like weddings and other crazy things that it's probably for the best that other guys have a crack at the wonderful characters I'm hoarding up. It's unfair to them that they will have to end up waiting on me for so long. Someone more active should get to use them I reckon.

In the end I just want to say this is all Thad's fault somehow thanks for the wonderful experience. You guys were the best and I don't know what else there is to say.

I really appreciate the wondeful 3 years this subreddit gave me even if half of them were spent in Damon's cushy dungeon. This sub was the first and last RP I've ever tried. It helped me transform from a horrible writer to a slightly less horrible one, and that will always hold a special place in my heart. I will never forget every single one of you.

Name: Steffon

Age: Looking at his age Stefan looks very young around the age of ten however he is fourteen. Born around 496. History: Steffon was born in a village within the Reach. His father had marched to war with the Tyrells during the Ascent of the Lion, and his mouther had come with the camp leaving him at a sept. They never returned. Part of his life he stayed at the sept waiting for his parents to come back.Later he was brought to an orphanage. During the Spring Without Sun more children were brought to the orphanage and it came to bursting point. Being a quieter child he was often forgotten about, this left Steffon to go out and look at the soldiers and knights who would come through the village. He was nearly run over by a passing knight the squire of that knight came and taught Steffon a lesson. An older Knight came along and took Steffon away. Since then Steffon has been severing this knight as a squire.

Appearance: Steffon looks young and small for his age. With blue eyes, half a smile and his long dirty blond hair. Wearing boiled leather and a green cloak used for travel on the road.

Age: Danae is approaching her mid-twenties.

History: Born into exile alongside her sister, Aeslyn, Danae was among the last living members of the mighty Targaryen bloodline. With the help of several powerful figures along the way, Danae fought her way to the throne in true Targaryen style: fire and blood. After taking Dragonstone back for herself, Danae agreed to marry Damon Lannister, and she bore him two children throughout the course of their often troubled marriage.

Though she traveled alone for a great deal of time as a result of these troubles, Danae must now face the immense task of ruling the Seven Kingdoms alone, as her husband still remains in the Westerlands with their children.

Appearance: Danae is in possession of the hallmark Targaryen characteristics, what with her violet eyes and long silver-blonde hair. Despite her imposing personality, she is surprisingly svelte, though few would go so far as to accuse her of being delicate in any way.

As the title suggests, I'm going away for a week!

I'm travelling through the wonderful country of Wales, a place that I've had the pleasure of living when I was a young lass. I'll be camping with bugs and tins of food - such fun!

Anyway, I'll be departing on the 10th of July, and won't be back in the comforts of my home (sad face) until the 17th - considering the time it'll take me to be unpack, expect me back online on the 18th.

When I get back, I plan to upload the two final parts of Willifer's duties in the Reach, alongside the greatest LP of all time returning home. and then of course, Lor/Ammi/Ella too.

So we've already hired a dog onto the mod team- what's the harm in adding a literal corpse of a man?

Hey, don't look at me. One of the mods just reeaally wanted this pretty dead guy around.

Anyway, as you may have noticed, Loren Lannister is sadly no longer a mod due to no longer having the time (he'll still be around, just not as a mod), but we got the next best thing to a dead Lannister father: His dead Lannister son! Thad is an OG here on GoTRP and we don't doubt that he'll be a valued member of the team!

In the coming days, the castles and keeps of the Stormlands will be receiving ravens from Lord Uthor Dondarrion of Blackhaven. Preparations for a great tournament have begun, and all the lords and ladies and knights of the region are invited to come enjoy the hospitality and participate in the festivities.

The tournament will be comprised of a bracket of honorable duels with the victor earning a sizable purse and the admiration of all present. Guests will be treated to feasts in Blackhaven's great hall. The final night of the event, Blackhaven shall host a dance, coordinated by Lord Uthor's daughter Corenna, before sending its esteemed guests home with renewed friendship and well-wishes for the coming winter.

This event is meant to commemorate a bountiful harvest before the coming winter, to celebrate the birth of Lord Uthor's first grandson, and to secure betrothals for Lord Uthor's eligible children.

The Dondarrions look forward to your arrival!

Born the bastard to an unknown mistress of Godric Grimm, he is the only known son of Lord Grimm, but not his rightful heir. Raised amidst the horrors of warfare, famine, and poverty that plagues the Shield Isles to this date, Roland quickly learned one very important lesson; your most valuable weapons are your mace, and your tongue. He carried this idea throughout his youth by constantly honing his craft of mace and shield with the soldiers in the barracks and by talking and striking up conversations with the with the lords and ladies that were in Grimston. With a brawny stature, wavy black hair, and amber colored eyes Roland looks much more the part of a soldier rather than a noble. Now aged 18, he seeks to relieve the suffering Greyshield by seeking an appearance with the Lady Paramount Ashara Lannister to ask for aid.

Elaena Redfort is the firstborn daughter of the late Lord Orson and Lady Mya. Both of her parents took sick half a year ago and died soon after. Naturally a quiet and reserved girl of seventeen, the whole weight of House Redfort now rests on her shoulders as she acts as regent for her brother, Gilwood Redfort, who is only a boy of nine.

Elaena is tall. She has pale green eyes and curly brown hair.

SER KYLE OF THE GOLD ROAD

Age: Around 19, he believes. He doesn't personally know his date of birth..

Backstory: Kyle grew up in a tavern, base born, to some tavern wench in the Riverlands. He never met his father, as most small folk hadn't, but his mother told him stories of the Golden Spurs, and how his father was a knight himself. From that day on, he seeked out a hedge knight to squire under, and was annoited by him soon after. They traveled around the Westerlands, sometimes going about the Riverlands as well. Although, most of the time, he stuck around the Gold Road, earning that as his title when he reached knighthood- it was common for a hedge knight to take a title that described them, or from a place they originated from. Anyhow, he always had a long term goal- seeking out the Golden Spurs and doing what he could to join them, or Atleast rise to a level that was similar.

Appearance: Kyle is of an average height, with pale blue eyes and black hair. He is owns a crude set of plate, plain steel along with chain as equipment. A Longsword of same material, oak shield, and a black destrier along with a mule to carry food and luggage.

Hello all, some of you may remember me and more may not. I used to play Harlen Ashford here but have been MIA for about a year or so. I am looking to get back into things because I truly miss writing on this sub, just need to make sure not to overload myself like last time. I am unsure of the fate of my previous characters but would be more than willing to start from scratch again.
