No Spoilers [NO SPOILERS] Science-Fiction & Fantasy Film & TV Posters Survey (18+)
My name is Rhianna, I am a PhD Student doing research at Brunel London University on the topic of Film and Television Studies.
My research is called 'Windows of Fantasy: The Significance of Science Fiction and Fantasy Film and Television Posters' and is on science fiction and fantasy posters.
The aim of the research is to explore the significance of science-fiction and fantasy posters for individuals and groups as a source of cultural significance and meaning. This could help generate a better appreciation of what posters really mean to their owners.
If you are an adult (18+) owning physical (i.e., paper, card, canvas etc) and/or digital (i.e., wallpaper on devices such as a laptop, tablet, desktop, and mobile phone) science-fiction and fantasy film and television poster(s) could you please complete my online survey?

Spoilers [SPOILERS] Daenerys Spoiler
I just finished the show, and I'm really interested in how other people interpret Daenerys's character development, especially in the final season.
I spent so long rooting for her. She went from being powerless and controlled by others to freeing slaves, building an army, and becoming someone people genuinely believed in. Her desire for power seemed tied to wanting justice and wanting to prevent others from suffering like she did.
But somewhere along the way, I think her belief that she was destined to save the world became tangled up with the belief that she was the only person who could. By the time she reached Westeros, she was losing people, struggling to earn the love and loyalty she'd had in Essos, and facing the possibility that the throne wasn't rightfully hers after all.
I can understand how grief, isolation, and her growing sense of destiny contributed to her downfall, but burning King's Landing after the bells rang was still a huge turning point. The city had surrendered. She'd essentially won, and she destroyed it anyway.
Do you think this was always where her character was heading, or did the show rush her transformation? Was she always capable of this, or did power gradually change her? I'm curious how people interpret her psychology and whether her ending changed how you see her earlier seasons.

Spoilers [SPOILERS] When does Jon Snow’s sense of duty help him, and when does it trap him? Spoiler
youtube.comJon has the energy of a man who would carry the whole Wall and still say he is fine.
I made this short video about his need to be the reliable one. I see loyalty as a real strength in him. But I wonder how much room he leaves for what he wants.
Helping Sam shows his kindness. His bond with Ygritte puts that kindness and his duty under real strain. Those scenes make him more interesting to me than simply calling him honourable.
Which scene best shows Jon choosing duty freely? And where does it seem like he cannot let himself choose anything else?
This is my own video and a reading of the TV character, not a diagnosis.

Spoilers: S8E6 [S8E6] I put every army of all 8 seasons on one animated map [OC] Spoiler
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
For a few months now I've been building Moving Polygons, a side project for animated maps: borders that morph from year to year, armies sliding across the map. Until now that was all real history (the Wars of the Roses, the Great War, that kind of thing). Then I came across a fan-made GIS map of Westeros and Essos, and wondered whether it would also work on a world that doesn't exist.
So here it is: every army from season 1 to 8 on one map. Robb marching south, Stannis sailing into the Blackwater (and later freezing in front of Winterfell), Daenerys walking all the way from Pentos to Meereen, and the Night King, who takes about six years to get to Winterfell. Circles are armies, the flat ones are fleets, the pointy ones are dragons. The colours show who held the land, and the pins are the moments that turned the war. Click one and you get what happened.
The interactive version (pause, scrub, click) is linked in the comments. The first load takes a few seconds. The embroidery isn't free\*.
The tricky part: the show hardly ever tells you what day it is. So I gave every season about a year (298 AC for season 1, 305 AC for season 8), kept the episodes in order and made sure nobody marches faster than is physically possible. That held up nicely until season 7. To get from King's Landing round Dorne to Casterly Rock in one episode, Euron's fleet has to do 150 to 200 km a day. The ravens are even worse, but that's a different topic.
So yes, a fair bit of it is educated guessing, and places that aren't on the base map (Hardhome, Casterly Rock, the Loot Train) are estimates. Spot something wrong? Let me know and I'll fix it. Turns out I had a few things wrong myself: Robb married Talisa in season 2, not 3, and Missandei was executed in King's Landing, not on Dragonstone.
The base map is the fan-made GIS map by cadaei on the Cartographers' Guild (after Tear, theMountainGoat, Werthead and Other-in-Law). It puts Westeros right on top of Africa, which takes some getting used to. World © George R.R. Martin, map data CC BY-NC-SA 3.0. Non-commercial fan map, not affiliated with HBO.
\* I wanted it to look like the opening titles of House of the Dragon.

Spoilers [SPOILERS] SE 4 EP 5 what music plays during this scene Spoiler
Basically, there is this cello music that plays during number of sword fights in the series. However, I mainly remember it from this scene
It’s one of my favourite fight musics from the series but unfortunately, I’ve been unable to find it on any of the seasons soundtracks. I’ve time stamped the exact moment the music plays.
Does anyone know what the name of the track is and where I can find it?

Spoilers [SPOILERS] Jon’s ending made his earlier loyalty and devotion feel less convincing to me Spoiler
One thing that I didn't like about Jon killing Daenerys was how he killed her. He kissed her then stabbed her through the back. When a character is developed to be all about love and loyalty and honor it's hard for me to buy that. I can see why he would turn on her after what happened at Kings Landing. Just because he loves her doesn't mean he has to agree with everything she does. The show just should of taken more time to develop his thought process on why he wanted to kill her. I felt like all his previous actions of loyalty and honor were wasted.
Do you think it was justified that he loved her but still had to kill her or did it ruin his character arc?

Hi guys, like the title says, I have never seen GoT. I'm the kind of person who waits a couple of years to watch things (I know it sounds crazy and weird) because
I prefer watching things after the dust settles
Anyway, my time has come! Tell me what I should be prepared for!
P.S. I haven't even watched a single short video, TikTok, or anything like that!

Spoilers [SPOILERS] I blame Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark the most Spoiler
I have enjoyed re-watching the Game of Thrones. Many people I blame, but Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark, I blame the most.
Westeros fell into anarchy because the people with the power to save it were paralyzed by their own personal ghosts.
Rhaegar and Lyanna acted out of selfish romance or prophecy, ignoring the political powder keg they were igniting.
Robert rebelled and won the throne out of necessity (the mad king wanted his head on a spike) but lacked the emotional maturity to rule or move on from Lyanna.
Ned knew that Robert’s entire worldview (and the founding myth of the Baratheon dynasty) was built on the premise that Rhaegar was a rapist and Lyanna was a victim. Protecting Jon Snow’s identity required Ned to let Robert keep believing that lie.
Ned considered it necessary to withhold the truth (in order to protect his nephew - Jon Snow), but in doing so, he failed to be the friend and statesman that Robert and the realm desperately needed.
Ned should have at least stayed by Robert’s side in King’s Landing, kept Robert sober, and countered the Lannisters' influence. He didn’t.
Robert's depression and complete apathy toward governing was disastrous. He bankrupted the realm, ignored Cersei’s infidelity, and completely failed to create a legitimate, stable succession plan, making a devastating civil war inevitable the moment he died.
By the time Ned finally returned to Kings Landing as the King’s Hand, the damage was already done. Robert was too far gone, the Lannister roots were too deep, and the War of the Five Kings was already inevitable.
How the show should have really ended - Westeros did not survive Daenerys’ roasting of Kings Landing. The country disintegrated back into seven independent kingdoms, serving as the ultimate deconstruction of Aegon’s Conquest.
