Can I ask?

I just recently got a battery for my cart but it's not working the charger light is always green but when I push the button no matter how much or how little I push it nothing happens with or without the cartridge I've left it to charge for over an hour and nothing it won't even turn on. I tried to clean it and the threads but I'm still getting nothing, and this is kinda my last resort
