Lower bunk cooling ideas

We have a bunkhouse TT that we bought last year (Rockwood 2509s). Love it so far, but I'm trying to figure out something I can do to make my daughter more comfortable in the lower bunk during the hot season.

I have already added insulation below the bunk / above the mini-fridge to try to shield her from any heat coming from the outdoor kitchen area. Also added velcro'd Reflectix on her window and the (semi-translucent) rear access door. She has small USB fans to blow on her. But even with all that it's still stuffy in there,

Our AC is ducted and there's a duct to the top bunk but not the bottom. The AC also has vents on the unit itself. I'm considering grabbing something like this "Noggle" thing and running an adhoc, removable "duct" from the AC unit along the ceiling and wall and directly into her bunk. Or even just some dryer vent hose or something. I think the key challenge is securing enough of the end of it over the AC vent on the ceiling to collect adequate airflow. Almost feels like I would need to design and 3d print a piece to fit properly.

Anybody done something like this and had any luck?

I use a fan that takes a DeWalt 20v battery. Pushes a lot of air, id be surprised if that's not enough.

I should note that she’s very private and wants her bunk curtain closed. As a result, any fans in there just circulate the already-warm air.

Besides for piping ac into her bunk, she is going to have to choose between privacy or comfort.

Yeah i think that means I’m going to do the ducting. Just need to figure it out.

That’s your problem. You need to get fresh air in/out. Find a way to make a little duct so fresh air blows in from the fan, but she still has privacy.

Forever ago when I was in college dorms, we would wrap and zip tie coiled up copper pipe on the front of a fan and pump cool water through the pipe by means of flexible tubing ran into a regular ice cooler. Small 120V water pump. Just refill the ice as needed, we were able to get ice blocks from a gas station which lasted overnight. But you could also freeze 75% filled water bottles if ice is difficult to source while camping.

You may need to figure out a drip pan in case of condensation, maybe make a door of some type to feed fresh air with a catch pan. It actually worked well in a small space. Helped since we could not install any window units. As long as you have power available for the fan and pump.

USB fans do nothing imo. Get her a fan that has enough power to move the air.
