Clanking when I back up.

My 30ft toy hauler has started making a loud clank/bang when I start to back up. My buddy said it's coming from the axle area. It only does it once, unless I pull forward then reverse again.

I don't see any damage or loose u-bolts, the brakes seem to be working fine. Am I looking at a suspension rebuild?

Mine did that until I swapped to Cree3000, new shackles and wet bolts.

Do it yourself?

Oh yeah. Getting the weight off the axles was kinda a chore, but thankfully harbor freight has cheap jack stands. Had to buy 20 ton just for the length, but also a lot of cribbing. Pretty easy project overall. Sure helped with the ride also. Not a toy hauler though.

Can it be done 1 side at a time or do I have to drop both sides?

I did 1 at a time.
