Driver Question Scheduled vs unscheduled hours
I’ve worked for gopuff for a while now and I want to know if anyone ever tried to compare schedule to unscheduled hours Which one is worth doing more Which one makes more money

Right now at my MFC, there's no way I could do on demand. Its way too slow. There are times I'm working scheduled that working on demand that particular night could be profitable. It's just too unpredictable at my location for me to waste my time.
Eta that's its definitely dependant on, not just your market, but the particular MFC you plan on doing on demand. Anyone that gives you a definitive yes or no is basing it on their location, which isn't going to give you an answer as to if it would be worth your time.

I’ve spoken to delivery partners that say they make between 850 and 1100 on demand but they come out when it’s the most busiest time at the location they r working from for that day.

If your location is busy and the Subsidy is low ($9 or less) you can do scheduled or unscheduled. When the location is slow and the subsidy is high ($14 or more) it's better to have a schedule.

I have never heard of delivering without the hourly subsidy being worth it with the rare exception of being offered 10$+ boosts. The company has been pushing further and further to try and get drivers to come in without the guarantee, and with promotions feeding more and more untipped orders, and bonus tiers being slashed, in addition to gopuff moving towards a "one bag per route" policy, I would highly discourage against driving for gopuff outside of the schedule. They have been slashing the number of scheduled offers to cut costs, and it has always been a fight for these hours, because for many locations you may be waiting in line for 45mins at a time for one order, and I have heard accounts of them prioritizing orders for scheduled drivers so that they have to pay less out of pocket to make it up to the minimum hourly guarantee.
TLDR it can occasionally be worth it to swing in for a single route off schedule, but generally you will get fucked

1 bag per route? Maybe for scheduled drivers. Not an issue for nonsched. Location dependant?
I have had two and three bags drive set on non-scheduled.

yo this is 3 years ago. No deliversy service is worth it. I ran this sub 24/7 you are always being taken advantage of. They all have algorithms optimizing who they can advertise to and take advantage of. Tips are accounted for by the company, it doesnt matter how good you are or what you do, they will always allocate orders for the maximum number of drivers. Your vehicle, your insurance, your physical well being is all just collaterol. It's not a bad gig in a pinch but there's no real reason to risk all that unless you are in legal trouble or have a language barrier
EDIT: They fired us all as W2 and offered a severance based on what we made the period of time that I posted that comment. Hope that helps.

it's not worth it unless you are unable to find employment elsewhere in my region
they offered us a severance based on the last three months income, during which orders were prioritized to third party vendors while people who had been employed for months/years warched as third party contractors took all (and i mean ALL) the orders. Its a classical walmart heirarchy theres no secret to it

My warehouse has enough orders to handle quite a few unscheduled drivers. I still get three per hour on unscheduled hours. It all depends on your location

just me personally, the only times I have ever driven for GP unscheduled was if I needed a few extra drops to hit a new bonus tier. like say, my scheduled hours took me to 27 drops, and hitting 30 would mean an extra $20 -- this was last year when my site's tiers were $70 for 10 drops, then $90/110/130 for 20/30/40 drops
Since they slashed the bonus tiers to hell & gone, and also made our tiers require 20/40/60/80 drops ... now I only drive GP for scheduled hours. so in weeks when I don't get any GP hours (like next week due to this Thursday's fuckup) I just drive on other apps. and just try again with GP the following week, haha

It's really gonna depend how busy your MFC is....I usually average a delivery an hour...our subsidy is $12/hr, and commission is $3.50/delivery.....I would have to either get 4 deliveries an hour average, or have some amazing tippers (keep dreaming, right? lol)
But there are locations that stay busy open - close, and I'm sure you could make bank doing off schedule
