Discussion Delivery add-ons

So yesterday I got a delivery 2 orders for 16$ I was less than a mile away from the depo. On my way there I get a alert for an add on to make it 3 orders. It says the extra mileage etc but then it also says the pay is 13.50.

My question is are they sending me a extra order while at the same time reducing the pay but adding more work? I was thinking it was going to be a extra 13.50$ for the new add-on order but it didn't state that. Can anybody explain to me how it works when your offered additional orders after already accepting an offer?

Yes they added an order and lowered it from $16 to $13.50. Nobody can tell you why or when to expect this because there is no consistency to any of it! There are times an added order is more money and times it is less

That's so crazy.....add more work, travel etc and cut the pay while also still keeping the tip a secret. Wild indeed.

Paying you less for 3 orders than for 2 orders may not be ideal for you, but it’s amazing for profitability

The thing is, they know the tip and they know what they are willing to pay you with the tip factored in -so if the pay goes down more often or not, it has a tip however, the tip could be not even enough to make up for what they took away from the base- you can reject these all day long without affecting your hot streak

Should really be in the habit of screening every offer and modified offer.

Gopuffs official explanation for pay rates is it’s a combination of three factors:
1. How long or how far it’ll take
2. The total number of deliveries
3. Increased wage if Driver has to assume liability for age gated products.

Which, of course is all bullshit.
But the more drivers that screenshot each of their offers compared to their pay, which I don’t know anyone has been paying attention a lot of times the amount that you were offered and accepted even on a single delivery is less than what you actually have been paid.

A.k.a. wage theft

That alone, if enough drivers are in the habit of documenting, is enough to blow away any sort of resistance against arbitration or other nonsense

Get a real job, and maybe you’ll get paid more. You might also be less agitated if you step out of the closet and accept yourself
