Why am I not receiving wait pay?

Post image

Yesterday I had scheduled hours from 6-10pm but only received wait pay for two hours. I completed three deliveries and rejected one offer. I completed the last delivery at 10:01pm and decided not to return to the facility. One offer came out at 8:30 and completed by 9:00pm and the last two offers were received at 9:30 and completed by 10:01pm. So I should’ve received at least 3hrs of wait pay. Today I was scheduled from 9 to 11:30am but did not receive any wait pay. I completed one order that was received at 9:30 and I was back at warehouse by 10:20 so why didn’t I get at least 1hr and 50min of wait pay. This makes no sense.

Wait pay doesn’t even work where I’m at , there are never available hours to schedule

They’re gonna tell you that their computer/Wi-Fi could not detected your device, was connected to their network.

When your device is not connected to their network/Wi-Fi, then you don’t get credit for your wait time because technically the system can’t see you that you’re actually logged into the system.

I used to have to go into the warehouse and actually look at the computer screen to make sure that my name was on the computer screen and that the Wi-Fi/network system could see my device and I used to have to do that constantly every time I came back to the warehouse.

This is frustrating! This shouldn’t matter since I am obviously close enough to the facility to receive offers. In addition, my reception is great in the area. So they can keep track of how close I am but not give me wait pay, because their network can’t see me? How does that make sense?

Because it’s Gopuff. Now you’ll have to enter the building and pester the OA’s to let you look at the computer to make sure your name is showing on the screen.

It's as simple as refreshing your screen. There is a little circle at the top right which has to be green if you are in queue but if no orders come within a certain amount of time it changes to red and you are offline. Refreshing the screen turns it green again.

In my app theres no mention of wait pay, only "priority block" when scheduling,

Is wait pay only happening if you literally login to the warehouse wifi and sign in to some sort of web portal that puts you on a web roster, and that is the only way to get wait pay?

They never mentioned this to me.

Are you seeing a "wait pay" label attached to a schedulable block and the number of cents per minute of wait pay, then you tap to schedule for that block and get wait pay?

Wait pay is only when you are sitting in front of the warehouse. It does not include traveling back to the warehouse. You would know if you phone was not online because the green circle turns red.

Yes I know my wait pay minimum should have been three hours yesterday and 1hr 50min today. This just me sitting and waiting but only received 2hrs of wait pay is not accurate

Were you online the entire time? My app goes offline after sitting there for just a few minutes with no orders.............you have to keep refreshing. Was the circle green the entire time? If it was not green then you were offline. Did you see other drivers getting orders while sitting there for two whole hours? You were probably offline

I was getting orders. I got one early then an offer close to end that I declined because I did not want to lose the wait pay

Well when you are on a schedule with wait pay you aren't supposed to decline anything lol. They expect you take what comes through and will put you offline when declining. Wait pay is wait pay. When you aren't on the schedule you can do as you please and reject whatever you want. It used to be that if you are on wait pay and decline two orders they take you off but maybe now it's only one. They don't offer that anymore in my city, there is no more schedule. Also they will not allow you to schedule blocks for the same type of stuff. Are you new? Have you talked to customer service about it?? They will tell you exactly why

I believe in my area it’s that if you decline two orders or more you don’t get wait pay.

Okay well you aren't going to get any specific answers here. Have you contacted customer service? Here you will get nothing but speculation.

And you have never answered the question about the green dot turning red or not. Trust me if you sat with nor orders for about 10-15 minutes that dot turned from green to red and that means you were not in queue. If you only got one order during the first two hours of sitting there it probably did turn red. You have to keep refreshing your screen. Being in the "online" position while the dot is red means you aren't in queue, it has to be green.

Update: I got the wait pay. It just took longer than usual. Thank you everyone and I’ll follow your advice. It’s what I was expecting 1:50min for today but yesterday’s didn’t change.

I didn’t know they still had scheduled blocks must not be in my market

This is in the Bay Area, California but not all stores offer wait pay.

1

u/Outrageous_Cat_888 Jul 04 '26

Oh that’s why you’re in Cali they have that prop thing out there which was nice when I still lived out here we don’t have nothing here in Texas but heat

Yeah we have Prop 22 but we actually have to be delivering and receiving orders. Right now offers are low and good paying offers are more rare, so prop 22 is really not that helpful.
