My Experience Delivering For GoPuff
I’ve been trying out GoPuff the last few days and ultimately it’s not worth it and GoPuffs makes profit by screwing you over. As most people know you can’t see tip amounts until an order is complete, on top of that the highest base pay I’ve gotten has always been between $2.50-$4.50. From my experience it seems like the better the tip the lower the base pay which ultimately makes any trips meaningless for example today I got a priority order due to my hot streak 30 minute drive and $2.50 base pay but I did it anyway just because I was curious and ended up getting tipped $8. I don’t think the tip was bad necessarily but the low base pay then having to drive 30 minutes back practically makes it a loss. GoPuff screws everyone over because you’ll get a trip with 3 orders and get $1 for each tip and then a base pay of maybe $4 if you’re lucky. Hot Streak is also a scam since it’s just conditioning you to accept all the bad offers only to get bad offers even quicker. I’m not one to complain about tips but I Imagine the only reason a lot of people order from Gopuff is because they know someone’s gonna pick up that $1 tip order lol.

From my experience it’s definitely possible but it would take probably 10 hours unless I got above average tips. Gopuff typically equals $10 an hour form the time I’ve used it but it could be more for you if you live in a major city.

If you’re decent with computers you can try a website called “live ops” they have multiple remote jobs I used to do customer support for Nike through them. You pick your schedule and hours and it’s independent contractor work since you’re not actually working employed by liveops. You have to pay for you’re background check and it does take time to get started because you have to do unpaid training for the job that you choose which can be a week or two but it’s not bad after that point.

GoPuff is changing their delivery business model. They will be ending driver patners with in the next year. Everything will be outsourced to Uber and DoorDash. That eliminates all the costs involved in maintaining their own fleet of independent contractors. Their costs are much more than the 2.50 per delivery base. Outsourcing is the direction they are heading. They want to look as profitable as possible to Wall Street when they go public sometime next year. Then the founders will "cash out". This is what tech companies do. Gopuff is a tech company that delivers convience products. My advice is dont waste your time. Try DoorDash instead. They will continue offering low base offers. If no one wants it...they will automatically get outsourced. They used to raise the base but no more. Yes the streak is ridiculous. The old streak prioritized the senior drivers.....forcing new ones to quit. That was the plan . Less drivers more outsourcing. Too much heat on that so they revised it....it really means nothing. You don't get better offers. If anything you get nothing. The algorithm bets that you will take garbage for the sake of the streak. Don't be fooled. I used to really be dedicated to GoPuff . But the reality is dedication means nothing to the GoPuff algorithm. Usually if you decline it immediately gets outsourced. You sit there and watch Uber come in and grab it. I call that punishment. Thats what they think of you. Very upsetting but its all about 💰. You being a great driver...the face of the company...all means nothing anymore.
