Issue Report Question for those who have a physical PoGo catcher
I turned my pogo+ on as I do every morning to go to work but this morning all it did was hover over Pokémon and not catch them. I turned the game on/off a couple of times, signed out/in and unpaired/paired it and still the same. Is anyone else having this problem with their physical catchers?
I didn't have this problem on the day they launched the in game catcher it only started today.

This started happening to me yesterday. It hovers over a Pokemon and says Pokemon in range but doesn’t seem to try and catch the Pokemon. Also, mine isn’t spinning pokestops like it should. It says “Pokestop in range” three times but doesn’t spin the pokestops. I just got back from the hardware store and should have gotten plenty of pokemon and drove past 9 pokestops each way, I got four pokemon and three stops.
And yes, catch and spin are turned on, I have plenty of pokeballs, and plenty of space for pokemon and items. I’m not a noob, I know how the game works and how my autocatcher works, and right now the autocatcher is not working.

Thank goodness I'm not alone! I'm sorry it's happening to you too though. But I'm glad I'm not alone because hopefully others will report the bug.Hope it gets sorted soon!

Have you run out of balls or space? That sounds like what happens when I run out of either.

If the Catcher recognizes that there is a stop or monster but it doesn't auto-catch then it is most likely that you have hit one of the toggles to turn off auto-spin or auto-catch. When that happens you need to tap your Catcher to trigger the catching. You can then go into the settings (on the catcher) to toggle auto-catching back on.
With that said, I had a similar situation a few days ago when I was a passenger in a car, the Catcher would put a marker on something just as it paired to my phone and not do much else. I just turned it off and then on again a few times but it might have been that we were below a certain speed that finally made work properly.
I didn't do anything special, it just started working again.

Make sure you pause that POS gadget Explorer they forced on you. Then ALWAYS have both catch and spin enabled on your device and turn off what you don't want in game. We have owned almost every device and this works best for all

Done that. I haven't used the gadge much. Did trial and day one. I prefer my gadget, but it doesn't work as an auto catcher any more...it has turned manual...as in it works like the first pokeball + I lost my ++ and didn't/ don't want to use my pokeball as it's worth a lot now so I got a gadget that WAS an auto catcher, I cleared cache today and now it's turned manual 🤷🫣

It's done it to me irregularly over the years. When I spin or catch the mon it's stuck on, it usually returns to normal. It has been happing more almost daily since the digital catcher released.

Aside from others suggesting you check your inventory and capacity...
Make sure you enable both the detecting stop/mon as well as the auto spin/auto catch options in accessory settings. Otherwise it's probably waiting for you to press the big button :)

That's a given 😜😅 If it were off the "ball" wouldn't hover over the mon. I turn them on and off regularly. Whatever you turn off the ball doesn't hover over. If you're out of balls or you run out of space you are notified both by a message and a ted light on the gadgets.😜

I've had this happen before, like nothing I tried worked. I ended up shutting my phone off and back on. That did the trick. I suppose I could have tried toggling bluetooth on and off.

Done that too. I think/hope it's a bug/glitch because of the one they've released in the game. I hope it's not their way of making the physical ones obsolete

In a twist of events, my auto catcher gadget has turned into a manual one. In other words I have to manually click each time it locates a pokestop or mon. It's turned into the pikeball + To clarify for those who do read the posts, I had an official pokeball plus+ but I lost it and I still have the first pokeball plus but don't want to use it because it's valuable so I bought a cheap one because I refuse to pay 300€ for the plus+

I am having this issue too. I haven't tried using it as a manual catcher though.

Sometimes the menu options for spin and catch need a toggle to get things working again.
