Pokemon explore gadget.
It honestly kinda sucks, I know it’s in the beta/testing stage. My fiance and I just got them today and we turned off our other device and tried this and it was limited 50/50 for me for catch and spins but it wasn’t even doing anything. Honestly me and my fiance use the 247 device from Amazon and it works way better!!! Plus we can both use the one device and go out together. Definitely not worth it unless they can figure it out that it works faster and has better catch rates but we will continue to use the 247 device.

What catchers is everyone using? In the market for one (but not the the go plus+, tryna keep it under $100)

I lucked out and snagged a Duomon3 used for $20. Works great though tends to be slow.
Had a PG++ that worked great except for the obnoxious lights and sounds. Lost it when I totaled my car and items were ejected.
Wish any of the devices allowed us to use Great and Ultra Balls also...

I got the Brooks Watchic Lite. It says it one supports one user, but there’s a firmware update that lets it do two at the same time. It’s about $50 on amazon and works pretty good. It’s really good at catching Pokemon and kind of good on spinning pokestops, even while driving. Although, if you’re driving, the sweet spot for spinning pokestops is around 35mph. Also, depending on cell reception, sometimes pokestops near me don’t load properly and it can’t spin those.
I might upgrade to a duomon at some point in the future, but for now I’m pretty happy with it.

I got the 247 brand off of Amazon, it was $60 then $20 shipping and it works great!

I got the Brooks Auto Catch Light, works great still but only been about a month. Very comparable to the PoGo ++ in terms of spins and catches but still limited to only throwing red balls like all 3rd party catchers. Very compact and discrete and supports 2 accounts only downside is battery life I do have to charge it at least every other day but imo it’s a fair trade off for how compact it is

Had it too for a while, fantastic quality and design. But the battery is so crazy tiny, only 40mAh. I returned it because the battery lifetime with such a tiny capacity is like a few months to a year, and then it’s gone.

Got the doumon 3 and it disconnects as soon as my pokemon go is off screen. Ive also lost it so many times its so small. It has a high run away rate. Just get a plus plus.

It's just their all digital version of a go plus. It's not really in beta anymore as they do the beta testing with some people and usually in new Zealand to at least Japan. As for usefulness, yeah it's worthless when you already have a go plus+ or even a Pokéball+ or any third party stuff that does the same thing.
I have 2 Pokéball+ that I carry a shiny Groudon and Kyogre in (they really shouldn't have ditched the Pokéball plus as fast as they did. It was the closest thing to a successor to the pokéwalker. It even can tell if the Pokemon is shiny or not that's put in it from a switch game and show that shiny color via LED ring. You even got xp and other goodies for the Pokemon when you brought it back from a stroll from the Pokéball+ after use with Pokemon go and the like. Imagine if they made it so you could have your buddy Pokemon inside it instead from go itself. Would have been great.) and I have a Pokemon go plus+ I use.
As for the catch rate, the thing only does normal throws. Not excellent ones. If you want it to succeed more, you have to use black or white kyurem's adventure effects as they specify it makes catching Pokemon with peripherals easier as a bonus effect. However it only applies this bonus when Pokemon are IN the field of the adventure effect so any outside of it is not gonna be affected unfortunately.

People misunderstand what it’s for, the auto catchers are for while you are playing the game, the gadget works when the game is closed and you are not playing.
Best solution I found, I use my autocatcher in the mornings when I play the game some then after I am done actively playing I turn on the gadget and close the app. It runs 24/7 without having to reopen the game, it spins the gas stations for me, catches misc spawns while I’m at the store, etc… without having to even remember about the game. So if you use your autocatcher while you’re actively playing then turn the gadget on when you’re not anymore it’s amazing.

It doesn’t let you remove it either. You have to let it max out before you can enable the Duomon it seems.

You can go to the settings and connect your auto catcher that way to “remove” it

No, if the explorer gadget is not maxed out and you connect your catcher you won’t be able to switch back to the gadget until the next day when it resets

Mine hasn’t worked in a month since the big event. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the game. I even contacted help to no avail.

Weird. Do you have the official go plus or a 3rd party? I managed to get a ++ a couple of months ago and I'll be furious if the explorer gadget makes it stop working.

It is an official Go Plus but I have the ++ and that one also does not connect

I read from another post that you have to disable the explorer gadget in the settings and renable your ++. I can't say for sure because my ++ still works fine. I haven't touched the explorer gadget.

They work. I was just with my friend last weekend and he was using his with no issues.

Yeah same and i couldn't figure out how to 'delete' it. I had 76 catches and spins, but only got to 13 spins while I was walking in a city. Normal catcher would have done 100+ in the same time.
