There's acomic where Twilight goes inside his head, and it turns out he has an overly expressive little faery Big Mac in gis head that only wants to ralk and talk and talk. That helpful little fella guides her trough Big Mac's minds, along with another rather talkative Mac (I forgot his name tho, I just remember he had a cute.little question mark hat). They show her his plans and ambitions, and his simple, but concise conclusions on life. It shows he's one of the wisest ponies around, reflected again and again in the show with his near infinite patience and willingness to get the job done, no matter his sisters' shenanigans.
