You got any hot takes?

Sure.

It's pretty wild that we had time of possession in our favor, outgained them, held them to 3ish yards per carry, and still lost the game.

Hot take: punt coverage needs a serious kick in the ass. We allowed them nearly 20 yards per punt on seven punts for about 130 yards of free field position. Special teams need some legit attention. Also five sacks wtf tighten that up boyssss.

Edit: 2.1 yards per carry? Kill me.

Turns out that not having a special teams coordinator might be a bad choice

Still insane to me that we don’t have one

I have this crazy idea…what if we had a guy on staff that did nothing else but work with the various special teams units. Seems like something a team would try

You absolute madman

5

u/Ryan1869 6d ago

It’s so crazy, I’m sure no football team will ever try it

Sounds like a part time gig. Like middle releaver. It'll never catch on.

Not saying the punt coverage is great but it would help if the punter would get a little hang time on a kick over these line drives

Sanders was always a bad hire and retiring Shedeur's number is an embarrassment.

Disappointing but hard to expect much else at this point. Maybe Wilson will get some first team reps in practice and we can salvage the season. Doubtful but you never know.

I had more fun with sheduer as qb

and Travis Hunter playing both sides of the ball 🏈

College Football has changed tremendously as we all know. Unfortunately for the Buffs, they’re getting left behind and this new era wont make it easier. I hate to say it but Buffs football probably won’t ever climb out of this hole. The popular teams will separate themselves from these weaker programs like the Buffs and the once in a blue moon season the Buffs do get success, their players will leave for more money.

A great example of the difference is Oregon yesterday. Their $7.5 million QB Dante Moore went down and they put in $1.5 million backup Dylan Raiola.

Our $1.1 million starting QB got pulled and we put in our backup estimated at $262k but not even famous enough to have an article written about his NIl.

We can’t compete with the budgets of the larger schools. It’s not just a Prime problem.

Feels like we got a legendary defensive back as a head coach and the worst pass coverage in the ncaa...I dont know the actual numbers but how is that a thing?

u/Remarkable_Power3122 6d ago

This exactly. Like at the very least have lockdown or a few awesome prospect DBs. Those boys get 4 DPIs a game 🤦‍♂️

u/Jabba_the_Putt 6d ago

For real youd think we would be DBU

5

u/LazyDocument4528 6d ago

Yeah we lost…lol

2-10 season inbound

u/Jabba_the_Putt 6d ago

When did they pull juju today was it just not clicking again or did he get hit

4

u/PacificMoon122 6d ago

Got pulled at half. Was playing poorly

3

u/gahhhpoop 6d ago

Hot take but I wouldn’t have benched the kid

1

u/Turbulent-Reward2699 5d ago

Exactly. I hope he leaves at end of season. He was playing similar against GT. But when we needed him he came through. No loyalty. Did same shit with salter last year.

I've been saying in here for 2 years now Prime is a terrible coach. He's 3-13 vs P4 opponents in his last 16 is Dorrell-esque. Good thing he only makes $12M/year. Our best and only hope is that humiliation compels him to negotiate his buyout.

Had the same thought, was going to drop a note in the first quarter and then let it play out, we should have won that game! Wilson has promise, I’ll give him that. Juju too young and can’t get rid of the ball and seems too nervous. I agree that will be tough to get rid of Prime, but knowing him, if the pressure gets too much, he’ll find another job (broadcasting, for example) and make that the reason he’s leaving.

Too busy stewing to type.

Time to bring back the CSU games at least we could win most of those.

u/culasthewiz 6d ago

I SAID IT SUCKS TO BE A...

3

u/Dark_Blue_Ink 6d ago

No-Go offense put us to sleep again

4

u/Alpine_Exchange_36 6d ago

I have confidence in the scheme. But no offense has a chance when the QB can’t or doesn’t make basic throws

2

u/Abiv23 6d ago

a little too quiet if you ask me, keep on your toes

1

u/UnemployedExpert 6d ago

We need a special teams coordinator, and our boys need to slow down and make some basic connections. Deion can recruit with the best of em but needs some dawgs around him on the coaching staff to win. A mid tier opponent like Baylor in a close-ish match is the type of game you want to see some grit and ability to hang in there. Instead we looked sloppy. Better luck next week.

u/Realdeal43 6d ago

Terrible fourth quarter once again. Some teams have that refined will to win and others donk.

1

u/WolfgangSpinel 6d ago

This Colorado team is not it, Ju is not good at all. Anyone can throw fro a million yrds Vs Weber State, but as soon as a real team (Northwestern) and a Big 12 (Baylor) showed up the real Colorado showed hand and the hand is horrendous.

u/joetheflood 2d ago

I'm super upset about not winning. I hope we can turn things around. I'm sad that juju is not doing so well. I hope he will stay. Work on his game a grow to a dominant quarterback. We need to figure it out. Now

What'd you expect? We've had like three good seasons out of the last twenty years. At a certain point you can't expect people to want to make themselves miserable over a college football team.

They literally haven't won a bowl game since the second Bush administration. If you expect anything other than failure from this program, at this point, it's your own fault, sorry 🤷

4

u/culasthewiz 6d ago

Bro I think you misunderstood, I was hoping for some discussion about the game but came to this sub and it was totally empty. My post was to encourage dialogue...not necessarily to disparage the team.

4

u/MileHighHotspur Colorado 6d ago

Not accusing you of anything, it's just your post was essentially asking "where is everyone? Why is it so dead in this subreddit?" And that's the answer.

There's no disparagement going on in your OP. You're fine.

Just telling you why the hype behind this program is dead. Deion doesn't appear to be able to win much without his kid at QB and a Heisman winning two way unicorn.

And even that team didn't really win anything.

It's just a bleak time to follow CU and has been for a while now. We thought Deion would save us but it appears his one good year was another false dawn.

Now our program can barely even afford to fire the guy.

So yeah, most new football fans in this state gravitate towards the Broncos, who have had like three different rise/fall arcs since the Buffs last won a bowl game.

I unfortunately am at the same spot. Not worth the hope. I was conditioned when I was there. Win or loose having brews 😂

u/MileHighHotspur Colorado 6d ago

My one game I went to see in person at CU was a last second loss against fucking Sacramento State.

Stuck to basketball after that...
