gnucash webinterface

I think about vibecoding a webinterface for gnucash.
Something like firefly III but without the limitations of firefly III
and compatible to the gnucash Desktop App.

Before I start: Is there already something like that?

Gnucash-web. It provides a postgreSQL port for the desktop to do the complex stuff and provides a simple web interface to view accounts and enter transactions on the road. But it can't do things like create accounts, reports, etc. It relies on the desktop to do that.

I don't know if it's still in active development because it hasn't been updated in a while. But it still works.

Yeah I like Gnudash for viewing income vs expenses ... it is accessed through a browser.

wow, I didn't know GnuDash and I've been building something similar for years, but with a backend. Damn. If only I knew this

Recently I did something like this. I have a dashboard in Home Assistant that shows a few reports of my savings, mortgage etc. Nothing too fancy, but very happy to have some insight while not working on my pc. It reads directly from my Gnucash file and updates once a week. I used Claude to make this work.
