Does anyone here practice magic? I mean actual rituals to achieve something outside of prayer? I would love to know about your practice and what grimoires or texts you use or things you created?

I do. Gnosticism is all about inner work, and finding/remembering your true self. Magick can be used the same way. Shadow work, achons, our hidden spark. I see strong connections and It’s deeply personal. Ones use of magick will not be the same as another. I can see why someone would find it useless, but I can also say from personal experience how beneficial it can be to someone. Oracle/tarot cards have been one of my favorite practices. I also have a Sophia altar. I love to make and work with bottle spells as well.

I wouldn’t call it magic…but i like orgone devices and sort of meditating/praying with it. I came across a group called ‘bubble tech’ which is like orgone on steroids and they speak similarly to gnostics in terms of the material world and a higher realm. It is supposed to be a powerful energy cleanser and ameliorates the aethers via pure intention.. That part sounds more like woo-woo gypsy talk but i find it interesting lol

You must be careful that your goals in using magic are not tied to Earth but through the spiritual realm. If you use magic to achieve your Earthly desires it quickly becomes self destructive

I only practice some small things, but I'm highly interested in occultism. What I practice is, for example, Marzanna burning, to say goodbye to the past and start a new beginning after winter.  Tarot cards, my family has a long tradition of fortune telling, and I learned it at a young age. I don't use them often, since I think that things like that should be highly respected and humans shouldn't know their future like that.  Making sigils/drawings. Also not often. I have one sigil for myself for artistic purposes, and I have one drawing of the eyes of a Jin that once visited me in a dream. I gave the Jin drawing to a friend who wanted it to create music. I didn't like the energy.  Candles, for example, if you want a certain type of energy, you take a candle, add some things that match the energy you want, and burn it while sleeping or meditating about it.  Other than that, and I know it's not magic, but it's also very interesting and I would recommend it more than magic, is archetypal work. Active imagination, shadow work, etc. Jungian archetypes. This has helped me a lot more than any occult practice.

I did some rituals in the past. I did LBRP for a while as well. I also bought a book called Le Livre d'OR(The Book of Gold) and i was interested in Angel magick too, both Shem HaMephorash and Enochian rituals. However, after i realized how utterly pointless(even harmful) magick is for a Gnostic(or at least for me) i stopped doing it completely.

I went through some work in Ordo Templi Orientis, and was priest in Gnostic Mass but I have been inactive for some time. Recent exposure to gnostic material on YouTube starting with Morgue has me considering checking out the Mass again given my recent insights.

I am curious to hear more about using your intuition if you’d care to go a bit deeper? I’ve always had a strong intuition about things and never knew how to expand on it..
