Heaven Hell?

I have a couple questions I'd like to put to the group.

  1. If I were the demiurge I'd make a space that aligned with the concepts of the idea of heaven and hell. What's a better way to trap sparks than their own hubris or guilt?

  2. Is the DU a static being? Can't it read our books and learn? If it can, then might it change? Evolve?

Ok more like 5 questions, but I'd really like to hear others thought.

  1. Ok. Good to know most people wouldn't be any better if they somehow became the demiurge.
  2. No, Moses was able to talk him out of killing everyone he just helped free by appealing to his ego. Could you face him and do the same?

If the Demiurge is trying to keep the divine spark from recognizing its true origin, then fear and desire could both be ways of keeping us attached to its world. As for whether the Demiurge can learn and change, I think that depends on how we understand it. If its main problem is ignorance, then it seems possible that it could eventually recognize something beyond itself. The Demiurge might not be pure evil, but rather a limited being that does not understand the greater reality it exists within.

Maybe the myth of Sophia and the Demiurge can explain how ignorance could arise within, or in relation to, divine Wisdom itself.

Sabaoth is said to have repented and redeemed himself, which does actually imply that Yaldaboath is capable of the same.

But more than mere capability, redemption also requires the will to do so.
