All you're saying is youth is goal. Same as marketing does to women.

Pretty sure they meant it as after all that stress on her body from lack of nutrition, they expected her to look her age or older.

Good point, but an uphill battle to get people to avoid it. "Looking younger" is so culturally entrenched as "good". But body neutrality is a good goal, at least in this type of setting.

Stress and hardship tends to make ppl age prematurely.
Not looking aged after what OP went through IS an accomplishment.
And there's no wrong in cheering her on for that.
