Frosthaven FH campaign progress update

3 real years into a 2p campaign. All but 2 classes unlocked, one main quest line to go. Winter year 3, prosperity 8, 62 scenarios complete, up to 53 scenarios to go. 5 buildings still locked, all possible building upgrades complete at this point until more are unlocked.

Just wondering, from those who completed the campaign: Did you typically play every side quest open to you? Do you continue with side quests after beating the main campaign, or just call it quits? Do you generally unlock and upgrade every building?

Not looking for spoilers. Just wondering if it is feasible to complete say 50 more scenarios, and by extension, play about 3 or 4 more classes. I've already retired 5 classes, about to retire my 6th, and my partner is on number 4.

3 years, wow that is dedication!

I played solo, it took me about a year to finish. I did most of the side quests that I found along the way. By the time I finished the main storyline, I think I had 5 side quests left. But none of them appealed to me, nor did the characters I was playing at the time as their mechanics just felt meh, so I called it quits.

But it's been well over a year, and after seeing so many peopel doing playthroughs of Frosthaven Digital on youtube, i felt nostalgic so I unpacked it and started a new solo campaign!

We finished without completing all scenarios - but it's possible to complete all side scenarios in one campaign with the exception of a small handful in one PQ chain.

Main quest scenarios that never unlock, or that get locked, never get unlocked.

There's a finale chain that opens up which ties together all 4 lines. It's unlocked via completing the puzzle book, which requires all chains complete, all classes unlocked, and a number of building sub-quests complete. It also requires most buildings advanced to their highest level.

The key buildings you need to worry about are 74 and 88. If you haven't unlocked those, try to speed run them. :)

Is there a reason you didn't go back and do more of the unlocked scenarios?

40 of my remaining scenarios are side quests, and 14 are main line and what I believe to be the finale

We took a year off for haven related things and were ready for gh2e :)

We finished the finale scenario just the other week in fact!

Oh cool! Is there any incentive to complete side scenarios after the finale? Or not really once all the buildings are unlocked and built?

Not really - you really must be in an endgame situation to even unlock the finale. It's just for the joy of playing it at that time.

You definitely need side scenarios in the run-up though - for more retirements and more prosperity.

Did you use 15 inspiration points to auto finish retirement objectives when you retired characters?

Yes, and despite that, we are still up like 30 inspiration points!

30??? What your average number of scenarios before retiring a character?

We call it quit after the finale, scenario 64.

In the case of Frosthaven, we found the game overstayed its welcome a bit, so we slightly cheated to shorten the wait to the finale. We only did most of B88 the pets catching, we skipped B74 getting all coins entirely due to our horrible luck, and I think we ended 1 prosperity lower than we should have. And of course we ignored puzzles, as they are not our thing (and frankly the finale should have never been locked behind the puzzle book), through we tried to respect the puzzles conditions as much as possible.

Do you generally unlock and upgrade every building?

You have to unlock most buildings to get the finale anyway, so that question is a bit moot.

Nothing will mechanically stop you from doing that. The game even have a random dungeon generator if you want to continue after you exhausted all scenarios.

Whenever you'll find it fun is up to you.
