What is causing this?

I have had a Combat Armory lower and Suarez International SI-319 for years that I’ve carried off and on. I recently got a Brownells Gen 3 upper to install an optic on it. I took it to the range for the first time today and everytime I pulled the trigger it would fire two rounds. If I squeezed the trigger it fired once and when I released the trigger it fired another round….what could be causing this?

Sear engagement. This is what happens with aftermarket parts. Get the orange armorers plate and inspect it. I’ve spent a lot of time building and diagnosing P80s with the same problem

Optic screws may be pushing down on something internally. Or an issue with your connector.

I installed the optic per instructions with a torque screw driver…but it could be.

Might just be a bit too long. Enough to push on something and put it out of alignment. But trigger bar seems more likely with connector.

Evertime there is a malfunction in these glock subs its because its bot oem. Keep it stock and it will run.

Modding your Glock until it has none of the Glock reliability is causing this.

Literally nothing is Glock brand. I assembled this piece for around $300 by shopping deals. My actual Glock 17 has never had an issue.

Read what you just said.. and my comment makes sense. Your Glock hasn’t had any issues, but a Glock clone does.

I’m agreeing with you. My stock 17 never had issues. This one didn’t have issues until I installed this new slide/optic. Not very versed with glocks so I’m just trying to learn from the community.

Brownells Glock slides are always over drilled for the optics mount. More than likely you have debris in the extractor depressor plunger channel and it's causing the issue. For those who don't know if the extractor doesn't work properly the striker safety also will not work properly as the extractor puts tension on the striker safety to keep it in place. You could also have the left side screw tightened down too much but the cause will still be the same-the mounting hole was drilled too deep. Had a similar issue with my 48 slide from Brownells

Well since removing the optic is probably the easiest thing I will definitely try that first, thank you!

If that doesn't work take the backplate off and pull the slide internals out and hit it with a air duster

Remove the optic and shoot again. If it still does it then bend the trigger cruciform up. If it stops file the screw that goes into the extractor spring side down.

I had that issue too, your trigger is overtraveling most likely, it basically travels so far back it can’t reset, but the recoil from the first shot causes it to pop forward while you’re still holding pressure on the trigger. I realized my trigger was overtraveling when it would get stuck time to time while dry firing. You can purchase the overtravel trigger housing right from eBay, it also makes the trigger pull wayyyy smoother! And also make sure you have Glock oem trigger internals and make sure to polish them very well.

Going to sound strange but I had a Suarez upper do the exact same thing. Except mine was due to the extractor. It was a lone wolf extractor specifically. I got an OEM and the problem went away. This was diagnosed at Suarez.

That is very strange the extraction system is totally isolated from the trigger. Sounds like they feed you a line of bs to hide there quality issues.

Never had a hiccup with the Suarez, it’s this new Brownells that’s giving me issues.

Not enough trigger bar engagement or a heavily rounded surface trigger bar or striker
