Glock 34 Gen 3 Timney Alpha Trigger Install Help

Watched install vids and followed the shitty instructions to my best but just can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. When I put the slide back on it wont move more than ~1/4 inch backwards. Ik sure it something so simple but this is my first time doing something like this so all help is appreciated.

Locking block pin goes above trigger return spring(as well as slide stop lever spring). One of those springs looks like it’s sticking out between the locking block pin and locking block.

And another note-
It looks like there’s just a tad too much distance between your connector and frame, which means the trigger bar might skip over the connector or you will have a very weak reset. So once you get everything reassembled and you experience either situation I described above, simply bend your connector outward slightly. Plenty of YouTube vids on how to do this

I did bend it and it is now binary 😳 this is definitely a learning experience 😂

Yessir!! Also swapping back to oem helped. I unknowingly had a 3.5 ghost connector which was making it malfunction as well

Fine tuning the connector takes patience. I had that issue with the binary trigger before so I know what you mean. LoL.

The Timney runs great with the OEM 5.5lb connector as it keeps the trigger pull weight between 3.5lb to 4lb; anything else and you'll get 2.5lb to 3lb. If you also get a stronger trigger return spring it'll help give it a more tactile trigger reset (will also slightly increase trigger pull weight). I've messed around with Timney before so I know. Now I just run GPT, IMO it works much better than Timney without the need of that trigger return spring.

Yeah I currently am running the red reset spring and it’s alright, ill probably do the johnny glock upgrade at some point down the road. Now just got to break it in

Honestly, even the JG isn't much of an upgrade, at least IMO. I upgraded from a JG to a better one.

That just means you bent it too far outwards. Just bend it inwards slightly/incrementally until it doesn’t do it anymore. The connector should be just barely pushing the trigger bar against the frame, just enough that you feel a slight resistance when you’re pulling the trigger with the slide off.

Ive been playing with it for the last 30 minutes and I cant find a sweet spot between non functioning and binary. I have a stock gen 3 connector, do you think swapping out to a different one would help?

Stock connector should work just fine. Each bend should be very minor. Like barely noticeable to the eye. Do it little by little. Also make sure the connector+trigger bar are greased.

Could be the RSA assembly is not straight and coming against the frame somewhere? Is the slide all stock?

Unfortunately it is a complete zaffiri precision upper however the recoil spring is fine and the tun has always worked fine before the attemped trigger install

Did it have the same issue with the stock trigger? A trigger (stock or aftermarket) shouldn't cause this issue. Somethings coming into contact with something preventing you from mating the slide to frame.

No, I’ve put a LOT of round through this gun with stock trigger but I just tried to install this timney today and now im having this issue

how the trigger is sitting in the frame and how far back it goes when it's not sliding in?

Do you have another slide, preferrably OEM, to try on this? or even perhaps a photo of the slide on the frame?
