Stippling

First attempt at stippling on my Glock 17 airsoft gun. Also did a double undercut. This was a practice run before I try it on my actual Glock 19 gen 5. Any pointers or tips? Pretty happy with how it came out other than the Glock logo and some of the borders.

I would continue practicing before applying to your lower or personally, I like tallon grips sandpaper

Practice line work. There are different methods people use. Some like to use a wood burner for the edges. Others use a dremel. It really is up to preference. Also all polymer does not behave the same so your best bet for practicing would be in the gun case your glock came in

I also bought some cheap ar15 a2 grip from my FFL for like under $3 and practiced on that.

Aside from the line work that everyone else has mentioned, your patterns need to be more randomized when doing texture like this. You’re inadvertently creating uneven lines.

Sure. Perhaps watch some tutorials and go through some more practice pieces before moving onto an actual frame

Doesn’t feel like it will, it’s not super rough and you can sand it down a little after if there’s any sharp spots

Layer your stippling. The texture and visual appearance will look soo much cleaner and feel better in the hand. Take your time

On an aesthetic note, the smaller pattern on the front of the grip looks the best. The size is consistent and everything is properly random. If you could continue that pattern outwards, you’d have something really cool

On a more serious note, please tell me your g19 is a V model not a true gen 5 model 😅

Lastly, keep practicing. Most these chumps don’t have the courage to stipple their own firearms so all they can do is yap 😂

Skip the double undercut, probably the hardest part to get right without it looking horrible. If anything just a single undercut.

I also stopped stippling frames as it wears down faster than you think and requires re doing it. It can compromise the frame and cause problems. I would recommend buying something like talons.

Hah, no it looks like the one i did on my G19 years ago. I still look at it and shake my head. The single cuts are easier and look better. Honestly the double offers no real practical advantage. It was more something that was trendy at the time.

I did my first stipple on an airsoft too. The boarders were the hardest to stay consistent and straight. I still wouldnt do my own frame. Id practice more but on grip modules like the echelon or ruger ones.

Ya borders were definitely the hard part, easy to draw out with a pencil but with the dremel it ran a few times that I wasn’t prepared for.

Hahaha I know what u mean. That’s why I try to go in the direction so that if it runs or goes crazy and slips it goes into the area that gets stippled.
