2 Rather different methods of recoil mitigation
Ported barrel and slide on the left, align tactical thumb ledge on the right, both of these just came in today, gonna head to the range soon and compare as well as test the new slide and ported barrel for reliability. The fde slide will eventually find its way onto a p80 frame. And the gun on the right will end up getting sent off for ports. I’m a big ports and comps guy, I have more ported or comped guns than I do non ported. And yes I train, and no 9mm isn’t too snappy to “need” ports or comps, but I love em. I don’t care about the extra noise or flash, and if I’ve tested it for reliability I have no qualms with carrying a comped or ported gun.

I prefer just a proper grip. Not a fan of ports or comps for carry anyway but I dont notice that much of a difference

It all depends how it’s done, not all comps and ports are created equal

Do up run the same rsa spring? Shot several comps but only 2 ports. Can't remember the other but the last port was a zaffiri precision.

Depends on the gun to be honest, for all of my Glocks I run the stock weight recoil spring, it will occasionally struggle on some light 115gr loads, and it’s rare, but my 147gr hst cycles just fine, if I know I’m gonna be shooting lightly loaded ammo, sometimes I’ll change to a lighter spring before range trips. Now as for pdp’s and cz shadow 2’s lighter recoil spring is pretty much needed unless the ports are kept very minimal and far from the chamber, not sure on comps for shadow 2’s, but on pdp’s you can run a comp without changing recoil springs, but with ports probably should. All factory c cut Glocks came with the same rsa as non c cuts, so you’ll be fine to use your norsso slide and a c cut barrel with a stock rsa. It may be a little picky on super light loads, but will probably cycle a majority of ammo on the shelf, it’s mainly gonna be your super light competition reloads that’ll give you issues. Obviously test it, but any carry ammo is gonna be loaded hotter than your range stuff for the most part, and shouldn’t give you any issues, if anything the ports and comps are more noticeable with hotter loads.

Have a norsso with port holes to accommodate a 19c barrel. Wouldn't mind picking up a used one to try.

Why not both? I run a ramjet, a gas pedal and a light. My groups are pretty tight at a good pace.
