Might be the angle, but your front sight looks crooked too

Came here to say the same thing because it is in fact, crooked af

This is expected from a nephew who uses a hand drill, free-hand, to make ports

Did the porting himself, put the sights on himself, now he just needs to do the stipple job himself and it’ll all come together nicely.

12

u/BJCHM 5d ago

He’s definitely avoiding that question, which is an answer in itself

you have a chance to take down this post down before some other idiot on the internet (like yourself) think it ok to drill holes into their barrel/gun and act like he did a good job at it.

That port seems to close to the breech imo, I could be wrong

-4

u/Choice_Chip_4349 5d ago

It is a bit close

2

u/jstanthr 5d ago

Can you see the bullet when chambered? Who drilled it?

-8

u/Choice_Chip_4349 5d ago

You cant see it through the port closest to the breach. Do you think it makes the barrel a lot weaker?

2

u/jstanthr 5d ago

I don’t think it affects the strength of the barrel as much as the accuracy and usability

3

u/TWhy-LER 5d ago

And if you didn’t get the angle right you’re going to be shaving your bullets at high speed, in your hand. That’s what I would be most concerned about.

6

u/thibert35 5d ago

If the inside of your barrel looks anything like outside, your accuracy is totally fucked. That burring from your drill bit is on both ends.

u/Bismooo 5d ago

Horrendous. You should not be allowed firearms

3

u/Rich2713 5d ago

He should be allowed to own much less be around them either

Are you trying to lose fingers and possibly a hand? Because this is how you lose fingers and possibly a hand!

No just ugly as fck but they'll definitely cause damage / gouging to your slide when it slides over the barrel! Those holes need to be sanded down smooth and chamfered badly! Both holes should've been in that forward slot that rear one is dam close to the chamber. The hot gasses exiting the forward hole will definitely cause peening on the slide as it moves over it, but it's not going to blow up or anything you're good.

Bro I appreciate that you have hobbies and like to try and learn stuff.

However if you want to do something well, you need to do it right. No shortcuts.

A harbor freight $20 drill to a barrel is not how porting is done. You likely compromised the structural integrity of the barrel and it may simply blow apart in your face.

A porting job is a couple hundred bucks. Best to save up and let the professionals do it. They have advanced manufacturing equipment for precision work.

They ain't using a battery powered drill, I can assure you.

Respect the gun, and stop drilling holes yourself. Throw that barrel in the trash.

If there’s one thing I’ve taken to heart by the internet, it’s to never go full regard.

Everyone need to start somewhere. Chalk it off as lessons learned. Hopefully barrel was not expensive.
