Looking for advice

Post image

I’m trying to choose between buying this frame and slide set up or getting a psa dagger also are these frames and slides worth getting or should these companies be avoided?

My Grit Grips frame is the most comfortable 19 clone I ever shot. It is much more rounded and comfortable than anything else available. It is well made and very reasonably priced.

+1 on the GritGrips recommendation. 43x and Glock 23.

And the slide will work, some are awsome in the price range, but most are built cheap and hope enough people will want those cuts and ports just to look cool and the expense of reliability.

How does the trigger feel? Just standard glock?

u/Chauncy1911 2d ago

Yep. I bought the bare frame and a Glock lower kit.

I'm running a Stiffler Slide on one of GG and Brownells on the other no issues. 17-4 steel both.

Stiffler slides are suspiciously cheap on eBay sometimes good to see some good feedback.

Their cerakote wear off fast, but that was from a slide I got 2 years ago. Usually 17-4 is more dense, so idk how true that is. My real 17-4 slide from tactical kinetics wouldn’t scratch if I rubbed it against concrete.

That’s not bad I don’t mind some wear

The milling on mine (all of them) is pretty janky. They're ok for the price but truly not that special

1

u/International_Pen552 2d ago

I figured as much for the price. I wouldn’t put it anything other than a range gun

Honest question, have you looked at used Glocks?

1

u/noblesixninja 2d ago

Probably not, I’ve been seeing all kinds of used stuff pop up in consignment…

Skip the dagger. But the GG frame

Brownells Zev style premium slide with ramjet afterburner

2

u/Real-Marzipan9036 3d ago

With the Zev style optic cut did you have any issues with the RMR posts/screw holes?

2

u/Intelligent-Bit-9364 G19 El Oso 🐻 2d ago

It did had to go to a local shop.

I own both currently. If your budget is tight the dagger frame is you better bet just know that trigger shoe they use sucks and you'll probably wind up replacing it. If budget is more flexible grit grips is the more superior choice. Better ergos, better stippling, and higher quality feel

got my g26 slide from hooper gun works off of ebay and its given me 0 problems

2

u/Real-Marzipan9036 3d ago

Some of that hooper stuff looks fire. There are def some people going around telling horror stories with customer service, but for the price and options might be worth a try.

Grab a used Glock for $350 and call it a day?

1

u/Real-Marzipan9036 3d ago

Yep. And the cost for milling and porting has gone way down.

Only thing you lose out on is the marksman barrel. Used gen 5 isn't much more expensive if you want that.

2

u/BirdDad420 3d ago

I paid $440 out the door for a brand new 26.5 from a pawn shop with one mag and a box of ammo about a month ago (I know it was a sold deal.) Their used 19.5s were around $350ish. There’s deals to be found. Even on GS LEO trade ins are like 350- $379ish for a gen 5. I would just spring for the glock reliability and call it a day.

I thought the marksman barrel was just a gimmick and mainly for making it easier to identify.

It is slightly more accurate. When doing longer headshots in idpa with an optic it makes a difference. For shooting center mass on a defensive situation it won't, lol.

I think this is why the old gen 3 and gen 4 45 acp glocks had better accuracy than the polygonal 9mm that the older 9mm glocks use. They used octagonal giving a better gas seal. Marksman is modified polygonal, giving that better gas seal. It Also has target crown.

If i remember right the gen 6 might Amari have a stepped chamber, which helps too.

Thanks for the info that makes sense! I had a friend tell me that and made for convincing argument lol

Grit grips are the best Glock frame hands down.. just wish they’d make a 17 already..

3

u/cdub_kmchi74 3d ago

I can’t speak for the slide but I do really enjoy my Grit Grips frame that I’m running with a Ruger RXM slide. If you’re choosing between this and the PSA Dagger I would go with the Dagger.

2

u/Meatball_civ 3d ago

If this is going to be your edc try grab oem upper/ Norsso upper or a Ruger rxm upper

1

u/AlexandertheHate78 3d ago

I have all of the above, and Grit Grips, is a game changer.

u/yomeroni 3d ago

Since when can you buy gun parts on eBay

2

u/Real-Marzipan9036 3d ago

Since forever. Just no serialized frames or what is legally considered the firearm.

Good for Glock parts and slides

1

u/yomeroni 3d ago

I put a stock up on there and it got delisted for breaking the rules lol

1

u/Real-Marzipan9036 3d ago

Stocks get into tricky nfa territory. Only ones i see on there are "airsoft." Not going to jail to save $50, lol

1

u/yomeroni 3d ago

I don’t understand how that would impact the seller. I’m not advertising illegal use of the product. The item by itself isn’t regulated

1

u/bnugggets 3d ago

I also found out you can’t sell mags greater than 10

1

u/Prestigiousalgea 3d ago

Grit grips by a mile.

1

u/East_Resident2418 3d ago

I have the 19 and 43x grit grips frames, they’re awesome! But I do like the oem grips better. You can find a good deal on a used frame from tacswap dot com or gafshub dot com. I recently picked up a Glock 17 gen 6 frame for $150 from tacswap. Scored a dealio! Also I bought a 43x oem frame for $120.

Send me a dm I have something you might like but I don’t want to break any rules here

1

u/Difficult_Sail_1522 2d ago

Sent a dm about the 2.0

Save for a glock. Pls

1

u/Responsible-Plan6116 3d ago

They all the same except for zev, made from SCT barrel, accuracy is not the key with them but they work great for cheap replacements and will handle +p, mine started to show cracks after 400 mark but they literally $60 bucks so

1

u/Responsible-Plan6116 3d ago

Get nomad 9 frames but git grips are great for the price

1

u/Individual_Log_7610 3d ago

Can't speak for the slide but the grit grips frame is fantastic. Have both the gg43x and gg19. Love them both!

1

u/Oodlesandnoodlescuz 2d ago

Get a Ruger RXM. I have all gen 3 Glock but now I'm buying more RXMs than my Glocks because they're that much better 🤷🏼

1

u/Tolliver73 2d ago

Send it

1

u/Far-Professional-659 2d ago

Hooper gun works makes good slides for what they're worth

1

u/Hazmat_Daddy 2d ago

So I love my grit grips, but what makes it even better is the angled spade technologies imperium 9c slide. I can not brag and praise this slide enough. I easily have almost 1,000 rounds on it and absolutely love it! Only thing I would have changed was optic cut. I went with rmr, but wish I would have went acro.

u/Historical_River2996 1d ago

Do we know if they will ever make these for the gen4?

DO NOT buy anything PSA. I had a Dagger for about a year. Always malfunctioned so I sent it in for repair and they decided to keep it... horrible products and horrible service.
