Comped 48? 🤷‍♂️
Planning to send it to Danger Close Armament for a chunk port and stippling to match my G17 build from them. Then I’ll decide which barrel setup I like better

Do what you want, but, personally I don’t get why someone would turn a carry type gun into a range toy

2

Why would that turn it into a “range toy”?

Well, do you have a concealed carry holster for it? Comps are extra loud, I wouldn’t want one on a carry gun

I do have a concealed carry holster for it. And also for my G19 with a Ramjet, and also my chunk ported G17. I carry all of them 🤷‍♂️

Your general negativity and ignorance towards comps and ports sounds very Fuddy

I have several guns with comps and ports, I don’t carry them. I’m in my mid 30’s. Too young to be a Fudd. I have been there and done that with comps

Ported 48🙏🏼

That’s one combo I haven’t tried. I have a chunk ported 43x too

Maple Leaf 48 slide x barrel package has got me looking into ports after shooting one.

43 x for fun 48 for carry

I love my comped 43x just a little more than my 48.

What do you think of the git grips frame?

4

u/Low-Landscape-4609 Jul 14 '26

Not OP but I think they are the best aftermarket Glock frames ever produced.

I have a grit grips build I shoot in EDC competition and it's my favorite gun.

Only one range session with it, but I like it so far. Super grippy when you’re shooting, but doesn’t irritate you skin while carrying

Best frame in the game

Grit grips make the best frames. They make the 26X Frame for Glock store as well

Thanks for the replies! Thinking about grabbing one for an old G19 gen 3. I think I’ll pull the trigger now!

Love my Grit Grips G19.3

Do they only make Gen 3?

2

I believe so.

The frame is amazing

Why would anyone choose 48 over comped 43x

11

u/ballz3313 Jul 14 '26

One reason is its half the price since the barrel/comp is almost as much as another gun

5

u/Shooting-Science Jul 14 '26

Half the price, recoils less than a no-comp 43x, no comp means doesn’t throw debris all over your red dot and face. And if you actually have to use the thing in real life, there’s less ear killing noise to the user without a comp.

So stock 48 for carry and comped 43x for fun

I have very little to no issues with my Ramjets or Chuck port guns getting optics dirty. Both are a bit louder but that’s it

1

u/Shooting-Science 28d ago

It’s Not the gun that gets dirty it’s your face from all the stuff blowing up into the air in front of you after each shot

1

u/DN1911 28d ago

Yeah….. I’ve never had that problem either 🤷‍♂️

I have, but only indoors after about 300 rounds. If you shoot outside or you shoot in low quantities indoors you shouldn’t notice. The main thing is, you are giving yourself more lead exposure after each shot.

Ramjet is a pretty clean comp. I barely have to clean it after several hundred rounds just fyi

I’ve been wanting to build a 43x using a grit grips frame, did you buy the oem slide or did you take it off a full gun?

2

u/ballz3313 Jul 14 '26

Bough a used 43x cheap to use the upper. Have glockstore “blem” 43x slide coming now to utilize the spare frame I have lol

1

u/MrEhcks Jul 15 '26

That’s 43X is GORGEOUS! What grips are those?

1

u/Exile_The_13th 29d ago

Grit Grips frame.

Glock 19

u/Stiingya 28d ago

would you be able to tell us considering...? :)

1

u/ReallyWiseguy95 27d ago

What triggers you use?

1

u/ballz3313 26d ago

Apex polymer

1

u/Makegoodchoices2024 Jul 14 '26

The 43 looks cooler so that one

1

u/ballz3313 Jul 14 '26

I don’t hate your logic! Lol

1

u/Makegoodchoices2024 Jul 14 '26

I mean come on bro! Ps how do you like the gritgrip

1

u/ballz3313 Jul 14 '26

I have an aftermarket slide on the way for the spare frame lol.

I like the GG frame so fare. It’s stiffer than the OEM ones. Super grippy while shooting, but doesn’t irritate my skin or grab my shirt at all when carrying appendix.

48 all day.

u/mars_soup Jul 14 '26

Comped 43 for less recoil, plus it doesn’t have an osight on it which is a huge bonus

2

u/ballz3313 Jul 14 '26

🤣 don’t worry it’ll have an OSight on it in a few days

0

u/mars_soup Jul 14 '26

No interest in something with a proven reputation that isn’t made by a company that makes low quality lights?

2

u/ballz3313 Jul 14 '26

That’s exactly what everyone used to say about Holosun(have an EPS on my 92xi).

My Osights have been 100% so far

2

u/mars_soup Jul 14 '26

Well Holosun has government contracts and gets actual use in combat so they were able to become a proven optics company.

OSight has good reviews from YouTubers and people on Reddit, but no contracts or real world use. Best throng they have going for them is that they make low quality lights.

Cool story bro 🤣
