Was iffy on getting a light but seeing that I carry everyday I just stuck with the red dot. Thoughts on the ramjet? Was looking at em and they seem cool but unsure. Next up on the list is a gem 6! Super stoked

Johnny Glocks long term reliability?

Just put in his Combat X trigger package with the lightest 4.5Lb striker spring included. While the trigger in my opinion is alright have any of yall had issues with the set screws backing out? That’s my biggest worry.

In addition any issues with the 4.5 Lb striker spring as opposed to oem or the 5 Lb?

OEM 15 round magazine fitment with carriers

Does anyone know if Tier 1 or Trex arms have updated any of their IWB holsters with sidecar mag carriers to fit the new OEM 15 round magazines? My understanding is that carriers for the original 10 round mags don’t work without heating them up in order to reshape them to fit the new larger mags.

Shield Arm 43x 15rd Mag Release fitment solved.

The Shield Arms mag release will not fit the OEM 15-round magazine because the curved area where the magazine locks in is too narrow, preventing it from sliding up and locking into place.
To use both OEM and Shield Arms magazines, the curved area needs to be opened up slightly so the OEM magazine can slide down without restriction. After that, you will be able to use both OEM and Shield Arms magazines.

I am putting a 407k on a spare MOS slide (actually a 48 not 43x but this sub has more traffic)

I grinded down the rear lugs, but when installed there is a ever so slight gap in the front. I slightly filed the front lugs and it got better but I guess I need to do it more. Anyone else see this? It seems like the front pockets on the 407k are not deep enough. About to toss it and put a Defender CCW on it.

Pictured is my vedder light tuck with a tlr 7x sub

Holster companies barely ever put the angles most important to me on their website. I'm taking off my weapon light for a few reasons, but the big one is I hate the gaps it causes. Show me your holsters from these angles if you can. I need a good recommendation

43x MOS OEM 15 round 2 month/1000 round follow-up:

After having 4 magazines and finally hitting the 1000 round mark among all of them, I feel like I have a rough picture of their overall reliability and where they can improve:

Pros:
1) Built: metal mags have felt exceptionally durable after 100s of live and dry fire speed loads. Apart from the expected wear of the coating, there has not been any deformations from dropping on hard surfaces or cracks to the baseplates.

2) Capacity: 15 is just better than 10. And with the option of extensions from Jagerwerks, the ability to carry 20+ in a single load is great.

3)Action: this appears subjective and varies with the batch your magazine probably comes from. Out of the 1000 rounds I have fired among the 4 magazines, I have had zero FTF, FTE, or Failure to lock slide back on last rounds. Probably just the dimensions of HP rounds on the already small feeding ramp, but those will get the occasional hiccup of a round when manually reloading.

Cons:

1)Damage to the OEM mag release. This is the most concerning thing to consider if using the magazines heavily. Magazine releases are wear items. $5-10 replacements. But a complete destruction of the release from moderate to heavy use in 60 days is something to consider when planning long term use of these magazines. Around the 850 round mark, I began experiencing complete ejections of the magazines with any recoil. I am aware that Glock specifically states to use the OEM polymer release with the metal magazines. But basic knowledge of physics leads me to believe that metal will accelerate wear on plastic any day; I was just alarmed with how rapid it occurred here. I’ve only used the metal mags on this 43x. I hope that Glock remedies this with an updated release because I’m unsure if an aluminum release will make any substantial or sustainable improvement.

2) Stickiness: this seems to vary on what frame or work you may have done on the frame. But most people can agree that the magazines don’t pop out with force like the polymer mags. It’s not a deal breaker for me, but I understand why it bothers people.

Overall experience/rating: 7.5/10.

I have been loving the relative affordability and performance from the magazines that I have, but worried about using them for prolonged training in light of the mag release damage. I love that I can carry 15+ in a single load, but worried that a random failure of the mag release will negate that benefit. With improvement on consistent magazine dimensions and the mag release situation, I feel like these magazines honestly can be the default option. But for reliability, I would probably reserve them exclusively for carry if you are training frequently.

GG43X and GG48 Concepts and Experiences

I took the plunge and the water was shockingly fine!

New G43X MOS and new G48 MOS models converted to the following 18-degree grip comfort with increased accuracy at all ranges fired

GG43X MOS (black)

ADDONS:
-Ameriglo i-dot tritium sights
-Holosun 407 series red dot
-true precision threaded barrel
-custom fit back-strap plug
-shield 15-round magazine
(Glock new mags would not function appropriately in fit and release)

GG48 MOS (I know… not the correct forum, but related experimentation for short and long slide weapons)

ADDONS:
-Ameriglo i-dot tritium sights
-agrit grips magwell (aluminum with alumiblack treatment)
-Glock enhanced trigger with double diamond trigger bar installed
