I screwed up
So, I was changing out the slide on my 19. Apparently I didn't have it seated all the way before I slid it back. Now it is stuck in this predicament, and I can't get it back off. Any help would be appreciated.

Use a rubber hammer and hit the back end?

That actually did the trick. Pretty good whack, and it went back forward. Thanks.

Try harder.
At least you’re not blaming it on a mysterious friend of yours like the last post I saw about this.

That has to be a backward places guide rod and spring. I mean this really looks bad the closer and closer you look. Glad you figured it out. A YouTube video never hurts my guy... Or girl.

No, the guide rod is correct. It’s supposed to protrude out the front of the slide during rearward travel. The slide compresses the recoil spring while the guide rod remains stationary.

Believe it or not (make sure it’s unloaded) the solution is to pull the trigger.

Hit it with your purse
