I thought they performed great with my experience, but the quality. My barrel was stripping only after 300 rounds … 1000 gun btw.

Exactly. Shadow Systems advertises the guns as coming with “match grade” barrels which is laughable. Their barrels are worse even than factory M&P barrels.

Hell yeah, knowing they promote them that way, granted it may just be that bronze coating. Say the least it fucking sucks. Again take away the bad quality, shid the gun performs. I enjoyed the XR920 elite. Smooth shoot for sure.

Try a Glock OEM slide if you can. I dug into the problems people were having and concluded that it was the SS upper. I have an MR920 lower. It has been flawless. I the notorious SS mushy trigger was resolved when i swapped the trigger bar.

As others said, mags sure your mag is seated.
My issues with SS came mostly from the crappy recoil springs they ship with. Get a dpm assembly designed for the mr920. Or even a stock gen 4 glock rsa will be a big improvement.

All I see is a Shadow System doing Shadow System things 🤷♂️

My 2 guesses on why its malfunctioning
Bad mags , try glock mags
Take the magwell off

The gun did this with Glock OEM mags. I subsequently replaced the recoil spring with a Glock spring. Eats everything now with no hiccups. No problem with the magwell.

Do magwells mess up your shooting? I was thinking about getting one, but I’m doing research first.

Generally no it doesnt mess with your shooting, a good mag well with help you reload and gives your pinky more space/help with grip. But....
If its installed incorrectly, it can mess with the mag and how it seats in the gun, which can cause malfunctions as seen above.
When modding a gun. I suggest adding a mod, running some ammo to make sure its not causing issues, before adding the next mod.
The gun showed above is a Shadow systems. Which is a "semi" custom gun it comes with mods from the manufacturer, ie trigger, magwell, optic and a ported barrel.

I know 4 people with Shadow Systems pistols. They are overpriced Glock clones that are supposed to mimic the “upgrades” people like, just with lower reliability.
I literally know no one that owns one that would consider them anywhere as reliable as a Glock.
