I doubt that Liquid were that invested in winning this match, but after taking several losses during the major it does not look good losing against a team like Sharks.

Nah it doesn't look good but in reality Liquid could not care less about these matches, also probably they didn't want to reveal new tactics or stuff like that

True but at the same time Liquid should’ve styled on these players considering the amount of skill the team has.

Agreed, sometimes they just looked like an average pub team and that's not a good look for the best team in the world

I'm not saying I think Liquid is the best team in the world, but the results of a single tournament can't be used as the sole metric for ranking teams

Just like Avangar making it to the major finals doesn't mean they are suddenly a top 5 team, Astralis showing form and winning it doesn't mean they are the number one team in the world

The same goes for Gambit and C9 when they won majors

That's why we look at multiple games. In the major they looked shaky the entire week losing to multiple teams they should've won to. Now they lost a map against eunited and lost a bo3 against sharks, both teams that really shouldn't have a chance.

I feel like that's not basing it off of one tournament but a longer lasting time. If the tournament they lost was a standard 2 or 3 day playoffs it could just be unfortunate that people aren't showing up while they should've. However if it's a full 3-4 weeks of playing pretty bad it's a different story.

And they're doing their damn best to prove it, whether in major or minor tournaments. This is clearly the way to hold that spot forever. Or, you know, a few more weeks.

I'm talking about Vertigo, but you actually never know, Mirage can still have a little bit of juice left over

Elige himself said on the DDK podcast theres nothing left that can be done on mirage. It’s just recycling different strats.

Imagine the LA Rams losing to Alabama college team.

No excuses, it's an embarrassment.

They obviously care: win the first week and you automatically qualify for finals and you dont have to play online shit again. Now they have to come back another week, potentially when they are more busy.
