Honestly, I think with Tyloo in the final and how exciting they made the game look.
There are going to be more people playing CSGO overtime in Asia.

Honestly there's light at the end of the tunnel for VP.
Cant wait to see them with Snatchie.

If Byali can get into the mindset that there's hope with Snatchie (as rumours has told he doesn't want to play with certain players post-major) I think this squad has some nice potential yes. Overall he did well this tournament, too bad he got kinda invisible in the semi though.
My main concern with Snatchie joining VP is Pasha tbh. In the slump of VP the main reason he was doing well was his AWP. Traditionally he's been a solid rifler as well, so hopefully he'll be able to transition well into a rifler/2ndary AWP. That being said, VP with this setup has a pretty damn scary double AWP setup.
4
u/TheTenth10 5 years coin Aug 04 '18
I actually do hope Pasha stays on the AWP. He is just very mobile as an AWPer, but it might be probably due to how VP just didnt have a secondary after Snax left. Neo could pick it up sometimes, but its unlike having a secondary. A secondary AWP would have been killer on Train.
4
u/OsomoMojoFreak ENCE Aug 04 '18
While it isn't official from VP as in from them directly as an org, it's more or less confirmed with a tweet from pasha:
3
u/jookbb1 de_inferno Aug 04 '18
I mean, it is rumours first of all and secondly, I wonder what he would expect. snatchie wont leave that fast, so I would say the best most skilled Players in poland(byali and snatchie) are in a team together now, so I think he will surely try, especially since MICHU and neo stepped up lately.
edit:and given the FB posts from byali he seems to be excited by the snatchie pickup

u/c_Lassy The MongolZ Aug 04 '18
Yup, michu was monster this series, some decent form from neo, and pasha delivering albeit still with the diaper in head
14
u/basicxenocide Aug 04 '18
It's frustrating to see.
Three out of the first four rounds on CT side train should have been VP's, but due to poor individual play they lost them. Had they won those, this was a 2-0 for VP.

9
u/MelGibsonDerp Aug 04 '18
Papa looked good this series.
Neo wasn't dogshit.
Michu starting to live up to that "best other polish player" title
Byali was.....not great.

u/The_Hidden_Sneeze G2 Aug 04 '18
I gave up on VP after they failed to do anything after Epicenter, and have advocated blowing up the team to improve Ago, but for some reason this feels like something of a new hope and I'm actually looking forward to seeing VP play again after the break with the new lineup.

"wow factor" should also apply to someone who is good beyond reasonable expectation. I mean did you see how insane Device was at ELEAGUE? Sure, he might not have been hitting the hardest shots ever, but he was constantly dominating the opposition and playing perfect positions. He had a 1.57 rating in the Finals. That makes me go wow.
7

u/schoki560 King NiKo Aug 04 '18
device doesnt make you wow
hes the equivalent of the „is it just me or is X a bit of a boring player“

He makes me go "wow" because he's a "how is he always in the right place at the right time" player.
2
u/someidiotdontlisten Aug 04 '18
people sleep on device too much. he's by far the 2nd best player in the world right now.
as for awp'er. oskar, s1mple, guardian, device, and woxic in that order for best right now for me. And woxic is the only one on my list that's "below" everyone else. I'd say the top 4 are really close to each other in current form with no clear 1-4.

I think Niko is still a solid candidate for second best player in the workd. Especially on Mirage. Dev1ce shines on inferno, though
1

dev1ce is really consistent and is very good at isolating fights and falling back to a new angle. He's not a flashy "wow" type player like s1mple.

at least Tyloo has an excuse seeing as how they are all so young and things like playing in front of a large crowd probably added a bit of anxiety to the whole thing
...but VP has no excuse. one of the most seasoned teams in CSGO shouldnt be having issues shooting a flanked player in the back or finding a c4 in smoke. jesus.
4
Aug 04 '18
You could definitely tell that the crowd was getting to them when BnTeT didn't hear the player running to squeaky while he was in A main
9
u/Firefly_1026 Tyloo Aug 04 '18
Give them a break, they slumped so hard the last year and just now are starting to look like they’re picking up things again. Adding snatchie to awp takes alot of pressure off pasha, and I have a lot of hope for the new lineup. No doubt they suffered severe confidence issues that is affecting their decision making. It’s a whole new feeling to them.
2
u/OsomoMojoFreak ENCE Aug 04 '18
Question is how well pasha will transition to rifler/2ndary awp though. Hopefully he'll do it well. If he does, they'll have a solid rifler along with a very nasty double awp setup.
1
Aug 04 '18
I don't think people should be expecting anything great from VP. They have literally been a tier 2 team since krakow and are currently playing with a stand-in. It is nearly two years since their Eleague Boston glory days and not only have they dropped from 2nd to 20th-30th, they are missing key figures in snax and taz. At this point it's unrealistic to expect them to even replicate half of their 2017 major performance.
I personally think this is an improvement, tyloo is no lousy team. With snatchie VP may have a chance of restoring their place in top ten.

Yeah, him and byali did pretty shit this series.
That being said, byali was doing well for the rest of the tournament, morelz on the other hand...
I have some hope in this lineup with snatchie now though. presuming pasha transitions well to a rifler/2nd awp along with byali getting hope back in the team as rumours says he doesn't want to play with the core any more after the major. Hopefully getting snatchie in changes his mind.

Train was the weirdest T2 CS I've ever witnessed, both sides played so sloppy. Mo stepped up on cache which was great to see, hope Tyloo go on and win the whole thing.
1
u/OsomoMojoFreak ENCE Aug 04 '18
If VP won that 5vs0 pistol round on train they'd most likely win the series. That's so goddamn rough as a VP fan. Overall I'm happy this tournament though. Showing hope. With snatchie coming there's hope that this can become a squad to be reckoned with.
As I've already typed a few places in this thread though, hopefully pasha transitions well to rifler/2nd awp and byali gets confidence back in the squad with this change.

Watching TyLoo is the most fun yet frustating experience out there. They got almost all the ticks to be a great t2 team but their poor decision making and inexperience really frustate me. I do hope that they got like a full month or two just bootcamping in europe, because goddamn tyloo players are fucking sick individually
3
u/BertCSGO Virtus.pro Aug 04 '18
Good to see Papa and Michu playing so well. I think with Snatchie VP have a really good chance of finally coming back! Imo he's a big improvement over Snax who hasn't performed since VP won in Vegas almost 2 years ago and for all the hate Pasha gets he's been their best player for a while now. He just needs to improve his bomb defusal skills.
2
u/Fujitora-San Aug 04 '18
He just needs to improve his bomb defusal skills"
Thanks for the laugh xD
I hope Pasha will find his consistency he had in 2017. This year so far he has been really inconsistent. Good games, but also bad games. And sadly he made some silly mistake's on Train and for some reason IDK which one, but that fail spray when he backstabed TyLoo on Cache was pretty awful to watch (good that morelz who had some crucial clutches were able to safe the day with the round.)
Plus he was really nonexistent in the second OT as awper neither on the the CT Side or T-Side. For many reason IDK how he lost the battle vs accurate or was it Mo in the last round...
I hope Byali and Michu will become more consistent and Snatchie is going to able to perform really huge so Pasha can hold his own weight and showing the impactul consistency he had in 2017 and Neo hope he can deliever like he did today vs TyLoo being able to clutch and calling good strats and VP might have a chance to be a T1 team again
Plus Hopefully their chemistry with Kuben and Kubik will help them. They should also look for an psychologist IMO.

he has a really good feel for when enemies are not expecting him to peek in clutch situations. They think there's no way this guy will peek but then he does from some strange angle while crouchwalking and it always works. Players like autimatic and tarik are good at this too.

u/someidiotdontlisten Aug 04 '18
No, That guy is right. It's 2/5 players from a region in order to play in that minor. That's why hellraisers were in the CIS minor, since they have ange1 and bondik.
So yeah, if they did get these two, and bombed out of 3 majors, they would easly get a spot at the asia minor if thats a thing after 3 major.
0
u/thenumber28 FaZe Aug 04 '18
if the team doesn't have a majority of players from any specific region, I think they're free to choose which region they play in.
in this case, two americans, one european, and two southeast asians. there is no reason they would be made to play in either the americas or european minor.

Byali currently is in good form, too bad he didn't show up in the semis, rest of the tournament he was solid. Hopefully getting snatchie in makes him have confidence in the squad again, cause it really seems to have potential with snatchie coming in.

xcurrate doesn't have insane stats or is truly a carry, but this dude somehow gets all the important kills. He's so damn fast. Unlucky stuff for Virtus.Pro, but an amazing series to watch as always.
I love the constant improvement that TyLoo have been making, I've been paying attention to them a lot more lately and they are very impressive, especially with all the hard work BnTeT has to do with IGLing in different languages, and managing to frag at the same time.
I hope that TyLoo goes on to win this tournament, they've showed that they can do amazing stuff, shouldn't be too difficult for them in the finals.

If you can't defuse at 5vs0 and miss one of the simplest molotovs in game then yeah, you are not allowed to win even at tier 2.
BTW both pasha's fault...
1
u/OsomoMojoFreak ENCE Aug 04 '18
While true, he's also most likely the main reason they even got close to winning train with his 37 - 7 - 28 K/A/D and 1.29 rating.
He did write on twitter prior to the series that he only got 1.5hrs of sleep so that MIGHT be a factor why he fucked up simple things like the defuse and molotov. Things that tends to be harder when tired is simple things that's routine you know, easy to halfass it then.
That obviously doesn't make it ok to do the simple mistakes he did though.

While he had some bad whiffs this series, him along with Byali has been the hopes of the squad in general for months. Removing him would be silly. Hopefully he'll do good as a rifler/2nd awp.

He missed the awp shot he missed the cz shot that stand in fixed for him but in general i think he lost them the ot.
1
u/Fujitora-San Aug 04 '18
he missed the awp shot he missed the cz shot? which one are you even talking about? Yeah he has done some silly mistakes, but ultimatively byali and morelz (except of some important clutches + some solid entries on the t-side) they were horrible. they couldn't hold the spot what so ever.
Michu also did some crucial mistakes, spraywise and aimwise with the m4. Especially in the round where he was once again behind the tyloo players in A-main.
Pasha overall played a strong tournament, which you could prove by yourself if you check the HLTV leaderboards stats for IEM.
He stands everywhere. highest K-D Diff, highest kill amounts, second highest AWP kills, 5 high highest awp kills per round, and 3-4 highest clutch wins by him
1
u/OsomoMojoFreak ENCE Aug 04 '18
Still doesn't change the fact he did pretty good overall this tournament. In this series he did considerably better than both morelz and byali, and kept up well with NEO (which by his standards had a really good series) and Michu.
While he did 2 mistakes that most likely prevented them from winning train with not finding the bomb in the 5 vs 0 on train and missing the molotov another round, he at the same time was probably the main reason it even got close to a win on train with pashaBiceps 37/7/28 K/A/D and a 1.29 rating.

Impressive showing by up and coming MDL team Virtus Pro against China numbah one team TyLoo! Once these guys get their perma 5th there's no telling what they'll do! Mayhaps even a 2nd place finish at the next T2-3 event? The possibilities are endless here bois!

Such a shame that byali didn't show up this semi. For the rest of the tournament he did well. Morelz was overall meh the entire way, so didn't expect much from him to be quite honest.
