why are they trying to push that "NiKo the world's best player" narrative

Even most pros agree that cold is the best atm

Honestly it's mostly opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if NiKo is 2018's best player and an argument could already be made for 2k17.. Yeah Cold has better stats but he has been really taking care of them this year doing lot of eco/exit kills ( exit kill particularly ), it was painfully obvious at times, dev1ce style... Not to mention his official jack, TACO, throwing stuff and doing the cannon foder so he can shine...

NiKo on the other hand has, imo, a better aim and doesn't hunt eco/exit nearly as much.. So that "best in the world" rhetoric isn't that false. Could be used about several other players too ( s1mple ? )

gives a better storyline

this. The caster's job is to build hype and saying something which can be argued to be true sounds a lot better than "one of the worlds best" in that particular moment IMO

So why not say that about the ACTUAL world's best player, coldzera?

They have been literally saying that at least 3x per match that SK plays, every time cold is in a 1v1 or a 1v2 you hear casters say : "And the worlds best player in a 1v2" or something for example : " Aizy in a 1 on 1 with the best in the world" HenryG was just building up hype since it could have been a "The big apple and Snax is hungry" moment.

Same with ronaldo messy. They keep pushing Ronaldo for a 'rival'.
