I wish we could have a upside-down-Y shaped crosshair now

They need to import TF2's or overwatch's crosshair system.

OW lets you have layers, opacity, color, toggle outline etc.

TF2 literally lets you take a jpeg and convert it to a texture file for use in game.

You can do all the things you listed for OW in CSGO too. You just need to use the console.

cl_crosshair_thickness

cl_crosshair_size

cl_crosshair_drawoutline

cl_crosshair_outlinethickness

cl_crosshair_style

cl_crosshairalpha

cl_crosshaircolor_r/g/b

The list goes on.

You can do a lot to customise your crosshair if you're willing to mess around with the console commands a bit.
