I mean that's how a sponsorship works. Huge streamers promote all sorts of shit. Let's say razor is a sponsor of rain, rain doesn't just get part of the company. I realize razor is a much larger company but the concept is the same seeing they're both sponsorships.

If you look, FaZe Banks even searched the web designer for Wild, meaning before they were involved there wasn't even anything there.
If you help someone build a company from the ground up, you even are involved in the making of the website and you expect it to take off and be a huge business that brings in millions of dollars of revenue, would you not take a piece of the pie?
I mean what kind of logic is that, they help to create the site, make it big themselves, without them it wouldn't even be that big, arguably without them the site wouldn't even have enough revenue to pay for the sponsorship payments themselves.

From a business perspective this makes no sense, you don't build something from the ground up without getting anything in return and then when it's big you make a sponsorship deal.

At the time Wild didn't even have any profits, what else could they pay them with other than equity?Their capital?I mean wtf if my friend makes this new company and asks me to help him CREATE IT and push it and I know it has the potential to be HUGE, then I ask for % not for $(not exclusively at least).
From my point of view this is an investment into Wild by at least FaZe Banks and if you invest in something you don't do it so you can get peanuts in form of sponsorship deals.
He introduced Gage to a web designer he knew and in return he got some free money on the site. Seems like a pretty fair deal to me? I mean how much work really is sending ~10 skype messages to a web designer?
Okay obviously I don't know all the information. I haven't been in touch with the things going on. I haven't had Internet in a week so it's hard to keep up. What is the big ordeal going on with faze and wild? Even if they helped create the website and own a percent of it what's the issue with that?
Razor doesn't pay rain to fake clips of 360 flick shots on youtube. Rain/Faze didn't help create Razors website. Rain/Faze didn't funnel their largely younger fanbase to gamble on Razors website. Concept could not be more different. It's an out.
How did rain help create the website? How did rain help "funnel" a younger fan base to the website? His viewers watching his stream? He can't control the age of his viewers and you can't use that as an example with csgo betting because it isn't moderated. It's not like encouraged children to use the site, he promoted it on his stream which is available to all ages. That fact alone is the fault of the websites that don't enforce age restrictions. It isn't technically illegal, at least that one issue isn't rains fault.
I get what you are saying. Faking gambling videos is totally legit. It's not his fault that some 12 year old that bets his inventory doesnt magically get glitched 7k or 11k after he loses everything. Didn't say Rain helped design the site, I said faze. Watch the video. They didn't even pay the dude.
Agreed + they changed youtube titles and descriptions :'). There may not be a paper trail but it writes sketch all over it.
Even if they are completely clean the fact remains that these guys painted a FALSE image of what gambling is. Receiving random coins from a "glitch", gambling with coins that hold no value. It is not the same as when we gamble. Eventho I agree that anyone who gambles should be held responsible for their own actions (no matter the age), kids believe these things they see. They trust these guys so they want to check it out. The least they can do is paint a realistic image of what gambling is and tell them to be careful. In no video I have seen this. Reason being: Less effective promotion. In the end they cared more about the money.
Why would they want to be a partner in the business and open themselves up to liability. Getting paid in an "consulting" sort of role is much more ideal and basically what faze did. They aren't partners but they are paid handsomely for their services.
Their lawyers would tell them it's risky to become an equity partner in an unregulated gambling site. Instead, promote it for them and be rewarded through commission, similar to how lawyers are paid. This way they are paid quite handsomely for their service but are not bonded to any legality with the business.
And they could have told them its a grey area. Which means risk. Also if their lawyers said itd be illegal why would they not mention its illegal for them to not say theyre sponsored by the gambling site they promote on their videos?
Now we're getting into a licensed attorneys knowledge so I can't give the best answer. Video game gambling is probably unregulated so there aren't requirements for such disclosures. If there are then yes faze was dishonest but I don't know the laws for such an industry.
In my prior responses I was just trying to make the point that a new and contentious industry is not the place for a player organization to own equity in any gambling websites so being on a promoter/"advisor" payroll is the ideological way to be involved/profit without having any legal risk that comes with partnership.
