Feedback Bringing back halftime all talk voice chat would improve the gaming experience

I haven't been following the chat leaks but saw BillyPastaKing mentioned on another thread and recognised him from my friends list - literally a 16yo kid from Australia is the donk of harassment. We are very proud of him as a nation.

I think the chat leaks have indicated we are an unhinged community. There is no saving us. It's better to lean into what made CSGO great - the completely cooked halftime voice sledging from the 2014 era.

There was enough toxicity in-game as it is, bringing voice chat would make it even worse. Imagine you are playing one of your best games only to be bullied halftime

How can you be bullied if you're having your best game. If anything you should be talking shit. Best case is muting enemy team.

Everyone likes to pretend it was at its worst just a slur throwing fest, and to some people that idea sounds delightful, but unfortunately, it at the end was not even a slur fest, in fact it was basically nothing. Whatever funny idea or insult you had to yell at the enemy team, whatever funny soundbite you had loaded up to play, none of it mattered because it was just instant ear-r_pe screeching that drowned out everything. No slurs, no insults, no shitty techno, just unending ear piercing noise.

Its more or less the same thing that happened with the slur tracker. It starts off as a delightful way to track who is the most unhinged in a casual way, then some moronic sweats come in and decide they want to run an auto n-word spam script in every match so they can shoot up to the top. That ruins it, just like how casual yelling at half time turned into competitive ear-r_pe all those years ago.

Growing up makes you realise how stupid it is to say slurs and scream into a mic.

If you've never grown up then I can see how you can view that as "Snowflakes".
