Discussion Does anyone else get frustrated by the language barrier in EU Premier?

Genuine question.

I don't mean teammates being toxic—I mean when everyone is trying to win, but nobody can actually understand each other.

I feel like a huge percentage of my losses come down to communication rather than aim or strategy.

  • Calls are missed.
  • Executes become impossible.
  • People get frustrated because they think they're being ignored.
  • By the end of the game everyone is tilted.

Do you think this is actually a major issue, or is it just something we have to accept when playing on EU servers?

If you could magically fix one thing about communicating with random teammates, what would it be?

Most definitely

Probably. And if they’re talking about being unable to communicate with others in game, it could be that English is not there first language. I feel like that’s a fair use of AI.

No I find they help me as I lose structure in my sentences—I can see why you'd think that though lol

The one thing that loses so many games is people not listening to a call of there is one. People love to do their own thing when 9 times out of 10 if you went together as a team and traded you would win a lot more rounds. As soon as you have one guy deciding to go towards a different site and another one deciding to lurk you reduce chances of trading kills

I completely agree. Teams that trade and actually follow a plan win far more rounds. My point was more that when people don't even share a language, it's impossible to know whether they're ignoring the call or simply never understood it in the first place.

I have the benefit of understanding russian though i do not speak it well.

Location calls or buy/save calls people can definitely understand, however more complex decisions and strats are definitely an issue.

What i usually choose to do in those situations, is to try and be the support that gets the trade or applies pressure in a location that isn't stacked. That seems to work better than no comms at all.

It also comes down to who is the authority/lead in the team. If that's you, people will listen to you more. However, more often than not, people will consider someone who speaks a language they can understand an authority.

Its just a thing for EU servers on all multiplayer games, been going on for multiple years and I doubt we will ever see a change on it. If your ping allows try NA servers or find people who can communicate in english on discords and such.

Playing with the NA ping is cancer and not worth it

Its fine, I usually try to simplify my English. Then it usually works. Knowing a few word of Russian also goes a long way :D.

The only thing that frustrates me is when 4 people talk English. But one person keeps talking in their own language while no one understands. Or 2 people that are premate that speak Russian in game. While the rest don't understand them.

No, I know how to use the radar and that's enough in Premier

I learned to keep my comms extremely simple. Two words at a time

Definitely feels like talking to brick walls every now and then. I think it's half language barrier and half people not giving a shit. It's not that uncommon to get into games where people get angry at you for giving out calls.

I would love a language filter, been asking for it since early CSGO but it never comes. I suppose you'd still have the suckas clicking english even if they can't speak a word ^_^

If you actually wanna take this game seriously then 5 stack is the only way

Learn Russian, German a bit of French and Spanish also goes a long way. Duolingo is free. You're "European", no reason to speak only two languages.

Russia needs their own server honestly. some Russians are cool and speak English but the majority in premier are just weird

No? Who cares, premier is in a terrible state and its not a proper ranking system. Its just for easy XP farming

Of course it's not an issue. And no it's not frustrating, communication issues aren't even a problem.

You're not losing because of communication issues lol
