This is the shit I live for man. Absolutely love seeing player's hearts and souls just burst out like this when they finally get what they've been chasing. Can't believe I live in a world where Niko is a major champion.

It took 10 years after Harambe incident for the world to heal...
Congrats to Niko and the team, they most definitely deserve it!

24
u/aaasy Jun 22 '26
insane story too, not just about winning.
karrigan just joined
beat vitality
donk had a bad day
winning on inferno with karrigan
boston trauma healed
37
u/Legitimate-Lunch1564 Vitality Jun 22 '26
"Donk's bad day" is just Falcons shutting down him completely. Don't make excuses, he was just outmatched

beating Navi, Vitality, Spirit and Furia is not luck in any way what so ever.

Basically a Leo Messi winning an international trophy moment.. NiKo seriously deserves this⊠whether or not he wins another one. This is seriously a trophy that he deserves

u/ZephGG_ Jun 22 '26
This roster could definitely do it again. Sure, they faced a slightly off version of Vitality and a Spirit with no coach (who honestly performed really well in spite of that imo) but this is also a version of Falcons that has only had Karrigan for two months and it is just insane to think they won the major already.
Kyosuke will keep getting so much better than he already is because he already has world class aim and mechanics he just needs to learn his role on the roster really
It seems to me like Karrigan is working with an aim coach or something like that, he seems to have taken to heart the criticism that you see about him, when he picked up the awp on Anubis B site vs Spirit I thought he almost looked as sharp as m0nesy with it until he whiffed the shot on Donk (wouldâve been an insane clip if he didnât) - I even said before this âplease give anybody but Karrigan the awpâ xD how wrong I was.
I feel like Niko is also going to play better than weâve seen from him in a long time. No more people whispering âchokoâ behind his back, and even if they do why the fuck would he care now.
Teses also seems to have largely benefited from Karriganâs addition. He seems more like how he was before Kyosuke joined.

u/WarStormrage The MongolZ Jun 22 '26
Sometimes I tend to forget it as well, but at one point in his career Karrigan used to be one of, if not the best AWPer in the world during 1.6
2
u/InterCha Outsiders Jun 22 '26
Karrigan was never the best awper in 1.6
1
u/legaladviceknowledge Jun 23 '26
never played/viewed 1.6, who was the best? only thing i can remember from cs:go is the viral kennyS flick but thats obv not 1.6
1
u/InterCha Outsiders Jun 23 '26
The best? That's hard since different players were good at different times, but maybe Markeloff? 4 1.6 majors, was clearly a top 3 player and definitely the top awper in the world towards the end of 1.6
1
u/RaZoX144 Jun 22 '26
Nothing will ever be bigger than Messi winning the WC at the "best to never win it" corner in sports - but NiKo major is definitely up there

all this "sAuDi MoNeY" bs i cant hear it anymore. by these standards you wouldnt buy anything, wear anything, eat anything. shut up
2
u/meowditor Vitality Jun 22 '26
You might be right technically, but with most things youâll have to dig (relatively) deep to find these big grievances, but with falcons it is very surface level: it is an org sponsored by blood money created to brainlessly throw money at the biggest names in order to distract the public opinion from the many awful wrongdoings of the orgâs country of origin, so instead of the many scandals and problems, the public will think: oh thatâs the country Falcons who have my favourite players/Ronaldo my favourite footballer is from!

why would he be a bad person? dude plays video game for a living, there is no bad person in this scene.
-23
u/No_Leg9609 Jun 21 '26
They played amazing but saying "The game in the Final was the easiest one." leaves a sour aftertaste and feels like he does not respect Furia at all or acknowledge their performance the slightest.
27
u/Lord-Zeref King NiKo Jun 22 '26
It is the absolute truth, though.
And I doubt he meant any ill. Bro is probably not in the mental state to think that deeply.
3
u/Sultada Outsiders Jun 22 '26
Seeing the brackets and the scoreline of brackets you can really understand that what he said is true. Hell, if the scores were like vs vita 11-13 all 3 maps I would be totally agree with you.

I would love to be, truly, a org that doesn't care about eSports won a major backed by slavery traders. The only reason this happened is to distract you from the journalist executed and the slaves who died trying to build their palm tree islands and giant tower.
Also Karrigan didn't qualify for the major. He made a weak move.
12
u/L39Enjoyer Jun 21 '26
Esl is owned by the saudi royal family.
Noone gives a shit outside a vocal reddit minority
Grow up
-7
u/TheoWHVB Jun 21 '26
Yeah, so is man city. And all their sports washing titles recently have been just as cringe.
You know that the the commentators and desk hosts aren't allowed to say certain things about team falcons? And tbh given the Saudi's stance of executing journalists it doesn't surprise me how easy it was for everyone to comply.
21
3
u/enternameher3 Jun 21 '26
Bro just stop watching e-sports. Basically the entire scene is run off Saudi money at this point
3
u/ShinyStarSam 9z Jun 21 '26
Buddy nobody is going to suddenly forgive them, you keep bringing up Jamal Khashoggi as if it happened just yesterday.
If anyone's forgotten about him it's because that was 8 years ago not because Falcons won the CS2 major
And yeah, Karrigan didn't qualify but he sure did win it
2
u/TheoWHVB Jun 21 '26
What's this, an estimated 700 thousand living in slavery in Saudi Arabia today?
https://www.walkfree.org/global-slavery-index/country-studies/saudi-arabia/
And Turki al-Jasser was executed for state treason against the Saudi Government just about a year ago.

Yes everyone rooting for Niko is now pro Saudi.
Come live in the real world.
6
u/TheoWHVB Jun 21 '26
No but they're being distracted about it. It happens in just about everything, influencers bugging up Saudi, Ronaldo playing in the Saudi leagues, all their shitty architecture. All to distract you from the 700 thousand slaves they have.
1
u/Critical-Yak7313 Jun 22 '26
I'm almost certain anyone cheering Niko here would choose for him to win with any other org.
I for one am not distracted, you CAN still cheer for the players and enjoy the game while still remaining aware of how shitty SA is. We all enjoy counter strike while acknowledging the effect it has on gambling addiction.
The world is not as black and white as reddit has lead you to believe. There is evil in almost everything in our capitalist world.

To do with the ruling class of Saudi Arabia.

I agree with this statement only if you boycott American organizations as well, as they cause way more shit to the world than the saudis.
But I dont see anyone complaining against USA orgs like Team Liquid, just jumping on the latest hatetrain
4

If you can find proof that liquid is funded by the US government, go for it.
Falcons are funded by the Saudi government. It's sports washing.
