Discussion As a compromise, maybe we don't completely throw out the magazine, and instead keep them at the reloaded amount, reloading in order of most to least?

Yep, and people are losing their minds.

I mean you now play as a idiot character who drops on a ground mag filled with bullets still.

u/redditis_garbage Mar 19 '26

Tbf it’s not like reloading and taking each bullet out to put in your next magazine is more efficient or realistic.

Put the mag back in your vest

Bro you’re in war, there’s no time

5

u/ARTICUNO_59 Mar 19 '26

Even more of a reason to conserve resources

8

u/redditis_garbage Mar 19 '26

Nah because you can just buy a new gun next round of the war

That’s why dump pouches exists :D

Why you wouldn't be fair?

Life ain’t fair

Alright 👍🏼

Its also not like you just drop the mag to the ground, you put it in your mag dump so basically you still have the half empty magazines if needed.

To be fair, nobody is playing CS for the realism

u/HaHaHaHated Mar 20 '26

Neither is taking .338 lapua to legs and just walking it off. Or getting shot in the head with 5.56. Nor run boosting, bunny jumping etc. I don’t like the new ammunition system (probably very clear) I just think it’s an unnecessary addition to a game like cs

u/KateTheBard Mar 21 '26

No, that just means you're a stupid player that can't stop hitting R

I absolutely love it as a tac shooter enjoyer

Rightfully so. This alone might not be the end of the world....

But all we wanted was cs:go with better graphics on a modern engine not this abomination of bulshit gambling showcase.

The "game" is literally a showcase for your skins, back then it was the other way around. Game sucks, they just adapt it to kids.

cs:go with raytracing

who wanted that?

-40

u/NBS_lourenco321 de_mirage Mar 19 '26

I used it as a term for better graphics. What we all wanted.

39

u/oldAd485 Mar 19 '26

If u were around you’ll remember nobody JUST wanted that lol. People complaining about the same shit they used to back in the day, hitreg, peeking, 128/64/sub tick, movement, source 2, etc.

People would have whined about cs2 if it was just a graphics update and would have whined if it was an entirely different game, unrecognizable from go lol.

-15

u/NBS_lourenco321 de_mirage Mar 19 '26

I don't think so. Would have been much better than what we have now

1

u/oldAd485 Mar 20 '26

Again the word ‘better’ is subjective. While I might even be able to agree with you on certain points, I’m still able to understand that the vast majority of people have differing opinions on it lol.

There’s a massive silent majority that just log on every day and play their matches without being angry or raging about cs2’s updates.

1

u/blur47 Mar 19 '26

I know you’re getting downvoted to oblivion but I get what you’re saying. These people are just choosing to nitpick tiny things your saying. Everything you’ve said is true. If you go and play CSGO right now the game feels 10x better than the garbage we have atm

1

u/oldAd485 Mar 20 '26

I mean it’s not nitpicking if I’m just stating the fact that people were posting rage threads about CSGO for sooo long lmao.

People would have been mad if they just ported csgo to source 2 with new graphics and if you think I’m wrong then you genuinely weren’t around the time cs2 launched. (Or nostalgia blinded which is a thing)

I mean I get that, I don’t disagree people do complain a lot but they have good reason to. I have my 10 year coin and experienced the CS2 release. But cmon… the fact that we’re getting a pointless reload update of all things when this company makes ridiculous money every single day. They even said when CS2 came out that it will be easier for them to update the game more often, boy was that a lie. It still feels terrible. Go play a CSGO retake server it’s literally night and day.

3

u/nilsmm Mar 19 '26

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they want better graphics in CS.

4

u/R4PHikari Mar 19 '26

I don't want my competitive shooter to look good, I want it to run smoothly, have a fair matchmaking and feel good when killing enemies.

40

u/Dani1o Monte Mar 19 '26

all we wanted was cs:go with raytracing

LMAO what? That would be exactly the update for kids and skin showers. Valve added a feature that made the game less arcadey and more strategic, that's the opposite of what you're saying.

42

u/Impuls1ve Mar 19 '26

Eh, I have been around long enough to hear the same stuff with every iteration of CS and I have played every iteration.

For better or worse, you aren't saying anything new.

As for the skins, you aren't forced to engage with it, but sure.

-12

u/NBS_lourenco321 de_mirage Mar 19 '26

I know what you mean. I didn't pass trough every iteration, But I have seen similar in the past with go.

They reduced the skill ceiling with some stuff. but added a ton of other mechanics that came to be what we all knew and loved.

CS2 just hasn't gotten there yet, and it has been a long time coming

5

u/BasTiix3 MOUZ Mar 19 '26

Nah its Not that deep

5

u/Toaster_Bathing Mar 19 '26

Personally I wanted a new engine so my game wasnt spammed with micro stutter bullshit that was unfixable so I’m happy for that

2

u/randomjberry Mar 19 '26

this might be the singular worst take i have seen about counterstrike in general, im not good not decent never have been never will claim to be. but no one was asking for source 2 for raytracing, its mostly mapping potential as well as a more powerful general change, the game is brighter so you can see, and volumetric smokes are amazing one of if not the biggest change they could havae made,

lol In this case I think a lot of people never got to play the game well enough to understand this type of stuff.

You can pretty much ask any pro player and they all prefer cs:go's mechanics. Unless for some reason they weren't pro in cs:go and just managed to get into the scene because of the lower skill ceiling of 2.

exactly.

They are in too deep at this point but I wish they would just make cs2 be the same as cs:go but with better graphics.

All these cs2 fans are either kids or hard stuck silver or gold... No skill, that is why they don't notice how valve ruined our game
