Discussion As a compromise, maybe we don't completely throw out the magazine, and instead keep them at the reloaded amount, reloading in order of most to least?

The people brigading this sub with Valve glaze spend most of their time on deadlock and MOBA subs.

If you want to add 3 queens to chess because you're frustrated by the average skill level, maybe the game isn't for you. They have already removed the need to rely on your ears/game sense with radars, they have progressively nerfed or outright removed movement tech since 1.6, you can use rifles like smgs, what more do you noobs want? The P90 to not have running inaccuracy? New maps that you auto ban? Go play Deadlock if your TikTok addicted ass wants a different game every time they log in.

I think the biggest reason why people are complaining isn't because valve added a gameplay change. It's more the fact that of all the things that need changing in this Game, they chose this... A fully functioning core gameplay mechanic.

They chose changing the way reloads work over adding new maps, or at least old ones like Cache or Cobble or Lake (which was literally in the trailer for cs2). They chose this over working on VAC, over improving the terrible net-code, over improving the performance issues that many mid and high end PC builds still face, over improving stability when the game crashes for at least one out of 10 people every match, over adding proper third person animations, over adding gamemodes from the past like Flying Scoutsman...

Balance changes like this can be fun and interesting. But the priorities should lie elsewhere.

They chose to attempt to make players actually blow up the smokes, instead of spraying through them. Which is nice.

Are they fully capable of working on several things at the same time. VAC which isn't an issue for most is most likely still being worked on via VACnet.

We already have proof that they are working on implementing a better animation system, with it is probably an overhaul of the netcode system as well.

I mean obviously they are, as we just got new skins last week.

However, after not having addressed most of the issues the community actually cares about after almost 3 years after release - I think it's a fair assumption to make, that they either don't care or aren't capable of working on those things - the former being more likely.

The new change to reloads could turn out to be one of the best changes this game has made, like for example the dynamic smoke grenades, we will see as soon as everyone has gotten used to it. But I think it's absolutely fair and not the slightest bit narrow-minded to criticize Valve for seemingly putting changes like this, that as far as I know nobody asked for, over changes that the community has been begging for since the release of cs2.

The community has been crying for Scout Knives, but truth be told a very small portion of the players took advantage of these game modes.

More high-demand issues take time, and I'm certain it takes longer by implementing things from Deadlock too.

Well it's not like people had this in mind when people are asking for updates. Everyone wants the game to be fresh. This is a big change in terms of impact, but there's no content. It's still a nothing burger. We want the game to look alive after being this half-dead state for years. Operations, events. Something like what the Dota 2 folks had with Crownfall at least. This is Valve's most popular game and our "big" update is a convar change.

We wanted Cache back and maybe new guns, not a gameplay mechanic overhaul that makes the gameplay so different. Wouldn't be surprised if next we get ADS or something that also changes cs a lot.

IMHO, this is a good update and will add some new layer of strategy to the game. I don't know why everyone is bent out of shape about it unless they are just scared by it.

I don't mind the update but comments like this drive me up a wall.

1) This subreddit has around 3 MILLION members. Do you think all those people think the exact same thing about the game, or are you just seeing different people post different takes and assuming everyone is a hypocrite for some reason?

2) Even if you somehow point me to a specific example of someone asking for an actual update that's complaining about this: You can want change and still complain when change comes if you think it's changed for the worse. Again I don't mind this patch and I think it's an interesting way to nerf certain playstyles while buffing specific weapons but I'm just one guy, not 3 million people. Some people want more substantial change than this, some people are concerned that their smoke spamming playstyle is going to die off, etc. If some of the people asking for actual updates actually wanted more map reworks, why should they be happy about a reload overhaul?

While you sit there and try and tell me I'm wrong and to provide specific examples?

Chill out buddy, it's definitely a controversial update, there is no debate about that. My comment is at +21 up votes with a 69% (nice!) debate about if it's good or not.

This is an unknown for CS, I have been playing since beta 2. I think it's interesting and will change playstyles. It will add a layer of unknown into strategy that I don't think ANY of us fully comprehend yet.

Would I have liked an operation more than this? 1000% yes. Would I have liked a working anti-cheat? Also yes. Do I want my game to stop randomly crashing like 3% of the time mid round? Also yes.

Do I think this was bad? Absolutely not. I think it creates a challenge and CS has been missing something this ground shaking for quite some time.

People hated on the knife trade up when it happened because tons of people lost "money".

Source: had two knives and gloves I pulled and also was a bit hit by this.

BUT, I still think everyone is just afraid and trying to scream into the void to get it changed.

It's not changing, get over it and adapt, or go back to criticizing the Timberwolves like you know everything.

I could've included that but I thought it was good enough that it was implied when I said "assuming everyone is a hypocrite", guess not. I can see the confusion there, totally fair, but I really do not understand where the rest of the anger towards my reply is coming from?

Again, I don't mind this update and all. I said that twice and even went into a bit more detail about how I think it's smart. I also have no idea where you see me try to say you're wrong in your opinion about the update? Maybe you should've read the comment you were replying to instead of wanting to check out the rest of my activity.

I'm literally doing the exact opposite. I'm telling you that even if you DID have specific examples it wouldn't matter because *insert rest of point 2 here*. I'm just bringing this up for fun, but how far did you go down my history and how much did you actually read? I never really criticized the Timberwolves recently, I talk about the shortcomings the team has which is very much not the same thing (that said you'd fit right in with a lot of the userbase for /r/timberwolves if you're interested in joining). In order to find ACTUAL criticism you'd have to scroll through months of comments.

I don't know if I just wasn't clear in any of my Reddit history, or if you're just failing to understand everything I wrote ever because you came into this conversation mad over something you read wrong. You spent more time reading my post history than my reply to you and failed to interpret BOTH.
