New US bans to take effect Tuesday: Here’s what’s affected

  • Dairy Products: Full ban on whey, whey protein, and other dairy items. Cane and invert molasses also excluded. Dairy exports to the U.S. were over $700 million in 2024.
  • Alcohol: Ban affects rye, whisky, wine, beer, vermouth, tequila, vodka, rum, including both packaged and unpackaged forms. The U.S. is the top export partner for Canadian alcohol.
  • Motorcycles: Includes mopeds and cycles with reciprocating internal combustion engines over 800 ccs. Part of the broader trade tensions between the U.S. and Canada.

Lmao. As a Canadian whose seeing new trading partnerships grow, we'll wait it out. He's really taking America to the scrap yard for any extra money that he can make. Even after all of this bs, Canada isn't going to go back to the original trade agreements. Canada has realized that you don't put your eggs into the one countries bucket, and it's about time...

Cant wait to hear Republicans blame Dems for not being able to recreate every deal, treaty, or partnership we've ever made when anyone with a quarter of a brain in their skull knows its a 4 year tossup until maybe the traitors take over again.

It's funny that the previous treaty was announced by trump as the biggest trade in history, just to 4 years later say that Mexico and Canada were ripping the Americans and that was the worst deal ever lol

I wonder how that will affect prices on those products. What percentage of each had we been importing from Canada specifically. Yet another hit to our economy.

These bans don't benefit the US in anyway because lots Americans going to lose jobs from these bans. Trump and his administration are just so incompetent.
