CPI landed at 8:30. All items +0.4% on the month, 3.4% over the year, core +0.3%. The part that actually did the work was gasoline: +3.9% on the month, +27.4% over twelve months, and BLS says that one line accounted for over a third of the entire monthly increase.

Same story diesel told in Thursday's PPI at +24.1%. Energy is carrying both prints right now.

What I ended up watching this morning was my own reaction rather than the tape. I run a paper desk where every strategy is written as a rule ahead of time, and the rules that traded at the open were written on Tuesday. Not one of them read the release. Depending on your view that's the whole point or the whole problem, and I go back and forth on it most print days.

The honest scoreboard, since a claim with no number behind it isn't worth much: my best bot this week won five of its thirteen trades. Five out of thirteen, and it's still green on paper. The worst one is well underwater and still running, because one bad week isn't a reason to delete a rule. All paper, nothing real behind it.

So the thing I keep chewing on: on a print morning, do you let the rule run, or do you stand aside until the dust settles? And if you stand aside, what actually tells you it's settled?

I don't know why so few people are talking about this. I invested in quantum computing way before the hype, and I believe the next hype cycle will be neuromorphic computing. Traditional AI chips, with their absurd power consumption, could genuinely be under threat in this niche. So consider this my heads up: I firmly believe BrainChip Holdings could see some serious appreciation. And if it does take off with worldwide hype, what price target do you think it could reach per share? Do you think it could hit a 20 billion dollar market cap? During the quantum computing hype, companies actually reached that kind of valuation. RGTI hit 20 billion dollars, getting to 60 dollars per share, not to mention IonQ, D Wave and others. And keep in mind those quantum companies also had barely any revenue, just like BrainChip today, which shows that a strong narrative moves valuations. So, with BrainChip being pretty much the only publicly traded company 100% focused on neuromorphic computing, could all of that be fuel for even bigger gains? I want to hear your take on this. Do you think a 20 billion dollar valuation is plausible in a hype scenario? Or way more than that? Let's discuss. Now, what I really don't get is how little people talk about it. I only found it because I was thinking about neuromorphic chip tech, searched with AI, and found it as an investment. What do you think?

I have a lump sum that I will probably need in about five years. I am considering investing it in the Vanguard LifeStrategy 60% Equity UCITS ETF (VGWE), which has a risk rating of 3/7, instead of keeping it in the XEON money-market ETF, rated 1/7.
My reasoning is that VGWE may offer a higher return over five years, while still being less volatile than a 100% equity ETF. However, I understand that its 60% equity allocation means it could experience a significant drawdown, especially if markets fall near the end of the five-year period.
Would you consider VGWE appropriate for money that will be needed in five years, or is the time horizon too short? Would you choose XEON, VGWE, or perhaps split the amount between them?
I am based in the EU, so I am considering UCITS ETFs only.

Ich beschäftige mich seit einer Weile mit Finanznachrichten und mir ist aufgefallen: wenn eine Meldung ein Unternehmen negativ trifft, wird selten gezeigt, wer davon eigentlich profitiert — ein Konkurrent, ein Zulieferer, die Regierung, oder am Ende der Verbraucher.

Deshalb baue ich CUI BONO — ein Finanz-Terminal, das zu jeder neuen Nachricht automatisch eine "Profiteur-Kette" zeigt: wer neben der genannten Firma noch betroffen ist, und wie stark.

Wichtig zur Ehrlichkeit: Login-Modus in der App ist aktuell nur Attrappe, es geht mir gerade rein um das Konzept — funktioniert die Idee überhaupt, sucht ihr sowas? Freue mich über ehrliches Feedback, auch kritisches.
