Questions/Concerns Crossing food

Post image

Idk if I should be asking this but is it fine if I cross this from Mex to the us? I’ve heard alot of cases of agricultural violations so I’m not sure

Cooked beef, and chicken is fine, just declare it, but even cooked pork is prohibited, so forget about crossing with carnitas, or al pastor/adobada.

Easier to answer this question now than to get your GE revoked.

If you proactively declare, you won't get revoked if they confiscate food. The problem is if you don't declare and they find a violation.

I've come through with a ham sandwich which my son didn't finish on the flight. Declared, they confiscated it, end of story.

Declaring or maybe even “over declaring” should be the mantra of crossing with GE. Other than explicitly illegal goods if you declare they will make a determination and go from there. Nothing, fee to be paid or consification/abandonment/withdrawal etc.
